I’d research them if they cost two figures. I guess not everyone does, though.

I support mileage based taxes. But, I’m a civil engineer, so....

The Federal gas tax hasn’t been raised in over 20 years. During that time, construction costs have continued to rise substantially. Additionally, vehicles are far more fuel efficient and fewer people are driving, which leads to reduced income as compared to 20+ years ago, when the gas tax was last raised during the

TI-83? Too complicated. I had a TI-68 for 15 years until it died about 5 years ago. I still mourn it and consider finding one on ebay. The sad Casio replacement just doesn’t cut it.

It beeps. I hate beeping alarm clocks. The light is ok, but it turns itself down after a while (there are levels of brightness). I would like it to be across the room at max brightness with no sound (if it’s facing me, I either just turn it away so the light points into a corner or turn the light off and wait for the

Electrical infrastructure is a pain in the ass. To design, build, and maintain, I mean.

Knock on wood! Mine’s an ‘07 and I didn’t want to make that post because it’s just tempting fate...

My car just turned 10 and it doesn’t really have any issues, but there are things available on cars now (and that I can better afford than I could 10 years ago) that I would like on my car. I’m debating whether to get something new. The major hail storm on Monday is factoring in... Why buy a new car only to have it

I have a blue one on my street right now that I’m pretty sure is storm sewer... since it’s in line with a manhole. But, blue does usually mean a potable water line.

Have been harassed by asshole coal rolling in Colorado who tried to run me off the road whilst biking. I have zero problem with that language.

So the minority in this country shouldn’t be represented on a sports channel that reports on sports where the majority of players are minorities? Um, ok?

Green chili is the bomb and I’m sad I didn’t know it existed until I moved to Colorado. My coworker didn’t realize this was a regional thing and was shocked. They need this stuff everywhere.

Right, but I was also quoting Florida statutes because that’s specifically what I know. In Oregon, the law actually states that you can’t call yourself an engineer, which DOES seem crazy. As my colleague said, “What’s next, fining the Rug Doctor?”

No, but he has to be an engineer to CALL himself an engineer. I have to look into the Oregon laws and rules, as stated above, in Florida you just can’t use the term PROFESSIONAL engineer or LICENSED engineer. Oregon may not grant that leeway.

- the board told Järlström that even calling himself an “electronics

It’s not just that he said he’s an engineer, but that he would have admitted to practicing engineering outside his area of expertise. Licensed electrical engineers are not legally allowed to do civil engineering and vice versa.

My first thought when I read this was that since he didn’t sign and seal any documentation, he wasn’t really practicing engineering. But he stated that he is an engineer. And you can’t really do that.

I also went back and read the statutes from the state where I received my PE and they state:

“No person other than a

Actually I think presenting yourself as an engineer is illegal in all states. I can specifically cite Florida Statute 471.003: “No person other than a duly licensed engineer shall practice engineering or use the name or title of “licensed engineer,” “professional engineer,” or any other title, designation, words,

It is illegal to do this in Denver. It results in auto theft and the cops apparently just don’t have time for that, what with all the tickets they’re writing people for “puffing” (as the practice of leaving an unattended car unlocked and on to warm it up is called here).

I basically want a screen that projects my phone. Like Chromecast, but instead of a tablet and TV, it’s my phone and a touchscreen in my car. I feel like we have the technology for this.

Aw, dang, I forgot about the radio controls on the steering wheel. First car I ever had with those! I.WAS.SPOILED by that car!
