Or, at least against the other guy.

The people: “The people have spoken!”

They probably were... The flint river water is within acceptable limits for consumption.

Slightly salty water over a long period is corrosive. Heck, even if the PH is slightly off, any old water is corrosive.

Probably because in Alaska, you would need it even more... Because in an emergency, any support would be even MORE delayed in getting there because of remoteness.

Mostly, apparently, it’s sodium chloride. Which can give you high blood pressure if you ingest too much of it. Salt isn’t very good for you. In the north, they put it on the roads in winter, so that’s probably how it got in the river.

The likelihood is that they never knew to ask.

I assume you mean bankruptcy court?

Go drop a penny in soda or lemonade and call me in the morning. :/

Lemonade is. As is Coca-Cola. Which are both corrosive.

So are lemonade and coca-cola.

You’re missing the point. The untreated water isn’t the issue. It’s the untreated water in combination with the old lead pipes. It’s not like they decided not to treat dirty water because it would be too expensive.

Could just be that the water is more acid or alkaline than normal, which our bodies are pretty good at handling, but lead isn’t... Especially over long periods. That’s just conjecture, though... I don’t actually know. Maybe the water is harder than normal, or has more minerals in it or something.

it wasn’t unforeseen. It was lack of investigation.

Darnell Earley was definitely a Democrat... Not that it matters all that much. It was a dumb decision, a republican would have faired no better. It’s just a point that it’s not so much a party issue as a “bureaucrats don’t make good decisions a lot of the time” issue.

There are already laws that enable police to be held accountable when they use deadly force without justification.

You have totally missed the point.

Last summer, the DOJ released a report which found that the Ferguson Police Department had a demonstrated practice of discrimination against black citizens.

The lead isn’t in the Flint river water... The reason that it’s in the water at homes is because the untreated water corrodes the pipes which have lead in them.

Note: this is how risotto starts.
