Hipster nonsense is hipster nonsense.

Terrible take is terrible. What if you want to commute to work, carry a family AND still do SUV things? I should buy 3 cars? Nuts to you.

I still don’t quite get the hate for crew cab trucks. Instead of one vehicle that can do everything, you want people to have a single cab truck and also a car? How is that better?

Lower deck heights. They need lower deck heights. I’m sorry that I’m one of the rare people who actually use my truck as a truck, hauling ****, but getting heavy crap that last 6" or so into the lowest current beds is where you hurt yourself. It’s the difference between dead lifting it and sliding it in, and having to

Counterpoint:

I suspect this is the replacement large car/suv platform. The D3 and D4 platforms are getting old and are heavy for being a FWD/AWD platform.

OK, this settles it. Lincoln just needs to be the American Land Rover. Just give up sedans and go all-in on SUVs. It’s their strength. Ford doesn’t have a sedan platform worthy of a luxury car anyway. They do, however, have a new Bronco coming out that may look good in these clothes.

No more details on the unibody? I was guessing this was on an Explorer / Taurus platform but the comment in the first paragraph puts that in question...any more details?

Dodge Releases Durango R/T and SRT: nobody bats an eye

Seems to make sense to use a proven, exiting vehicle (or at least major parts of it).

That’s not how blog titles work. They have to be click-bait bullshit, because click-bait works and clicks are everything.

I really, really wish the hipster millenial writers for this site would take a lesson on titling an article. Please stop with the “this will...” or “you will...” titles. Quit being so matter of fact on every goddamn article! Pick up a magazine (yeah, we used to read automotive articles in those), and have a look at

Good article, but I have to nitpick about what’s depicted in the lead photo. Those big cylindrical things both on and off the circuit board are capacitors, not batteries.

I’d much rather have the “boring” looking Audis than the majority of their competitors. Car design is, generally, way over the top and pretty bad right now. Too many grilles, gills, jowls, and scoops.

I don’t entirely disagree with you, but this wound is self-inflicted.

Those Nissan managers are just plain stupid.

I had a TDI that could automatically detect if it was on rollers so it could go into a special mode to pass the emissions test.

Due to a glitch in the universe, replacing the heater core in a ‘99 Expedition will cause it to spawn about 30 extra screws. Theoretically, this glitch could be exploited to generate infinite screws and violate conservation of mass.
