The Viper is the closest thing Chrysler has to the Corvette. The Challenger isn't being benchmarked against Z06's around the track or on the drag strip. It's silly to compare the two.

That's because its not meant to compete with the corvette. The corvette is a sports car, or the athletic equivalent of a soccer player, speedy handles well and has great endurance. The Challenger is muscle car or the athletic equivalent of a rugby player, more specifically the Front row, they may not be the fastest…

Yeah, but it's a muscle car, not a pony car or a sports car. Sure people cross shop it with a Mustang, but they're different cars with different goals. This isn't supposed to be a zo6 fighter. It's supposed to be a modernized Challenger.

But then why the "over 575 torque" number they gave out along with the "Over 600hp"? That seems awfully specific, and there is no way there is that big of a gap between the HP and TQ with a S/C motor (702hp 580tq for example).
