I don't think they meant "support" in the sense of "encourage to happen", but "support" in the sense of "approve of". At least, that's the sense I meant in my own post.

You can't really compare supporting an ethos through media and supporting an act through media, though. The former is much more grey than the latter. If there was a movie that actually included shots from a gas chamber, then that would be a more fair comparison.
That argument doesn't really apply here whether someone agrees with it in a general sense or not, because that argument is essentially saying that you shouldn't let things outside the context of a work influence your thoughts about the work. But this is entirely within the context of the work.
That's fair; I went back and reread your comments anyway, and I saw you were only talking about obligatory exposition, something that actually is important to the narrative; I'd still agree that something like that definitely shouldn't be buried away, it should be integrated with the story.
But the problem is that some fans (like myself) love having that sort of sprawling backstory and world-building details that have absolutely nothing to do with the specific story in question; are we supposed to just be left by the wayside by only including things that are directly relevant to narrative? You've already…
Science is much less infallible and definitive as you think when you're actually in the sciences working on it. I mean, let's take a classic example given to people about the strength fo scientific investigation: the Michelson-Morley experiment finding the speed of light and disproving the existence of the…
So in other words, you should get a name change to notdupedthistime?
It's a linguistics term for when you repeat a word with slightly different inflection (in spoken language, at least) or a tiny change in spelling or pronunciation in order to communicate something specific. One of the classic examples in English is "like like", but it also covers things like "fancy-shmancy" or…
Well, except for the impact of accelerating global warming as a result of Trump rolling back environmental protections and regulations and defunding earth science research, but moving wouldn't avoid that either.
But weren't those the only lost episodes?
That's not Will.
You're right in part, but also since in the US courts are (for the most part) only allowed to rule on legal matters when a case is actually brought before them by an injured party, if there's even a chance of a long-standing policy that's ethically questionable and in a legal grey area going before a judge or jury,…
Plus Navi wasn't even really that bad in OoT. I liked Navi, the internet overblows how annoying she is like it overblows everything else. :P
It's definitely accessible, I'd say - the Zelda universe isn't especially lore-heavy or anything, the lore's just a bonus. But you're not going to be able to play it without a Nintendo console of some sort. The original is on Virtual Console for both Wii and Wii U, and there was a remake recently for the 3DS, so…
That was a detail I loved in this video; how the Skull Kid scene at the end was specifically a reference to Link's own transformation scenes, even with some of the same audio cues.
Have you really never heard of this? You can only get government disability benefits if you make below $1,130 a month. If you make above $1,230 a month gross (+$450 per household member above the first) then you can't get food stamps. Welfare requirements vary state by state, but it's usually at a similar level. It's…
You're actually being too fair even with that: Not only did they not provide meaningful palliative care, but they actually explicitly refused to, because it was a key part of Mother Teresa's specific beliefs that the pain and suffering of the sick was holy and brought them closer to God, so anything that relieved pain…
Stepping aside from the rest of the debate here: I can understand how something can seem more sensible in comparison to something else, but how can it seem more self-consistent? That's not a subjective thing.
Like a hairs brush?
Yep: Streeter's also on SNL's writing team with Sarah, Pat's on Full Frontal (and he shows up semi-regularly in filmed bits too), Owen's on The Daily Show, David's on The Tonight Show. If you want to count "Adam Ruins Everything", Adam, Emily, and Murph all write for that one.
