But over time it’s still going to wear out...so instead of sitting in my driveway getting ready to leave for the day I’m stranded at a stop light holding up traffic

I can see that. I went for a ‘15 Jeep GC because I didn’t like the ‘16 shifters or the start/stop button having to be pressed every use. Not to mention the deal on the ‘15 was better...it all worked out

Re-Fi for a lower rate?

I think (not that it matters since it was merely a loaner) BMW lets the switch go to it’s last setting so it can be permanently (so to speak) turned off. Or there’s a software flash that allows it. I like that BMW gives the choice to the consumer in the end...

Educational and Comical, that’s one way to start the day!!!

I think I’ve read that start/stop won’t engage if there is a problem with engine/etc. I’m not super sure about this, and to be honest what’s to say my battery doesn’t die or alternator shits out or starter just doesn’t want to start anymore. In that case does the car know these systems aren’t working up to snuff? I

Good so arguably in due time start-stop tech will be more seamless and my issue with it will be kaput, especially once the more advanced systems come out.

That’s what I thought but I didn’t want to preach it as truth (the spiking of fuel consumption at start-up). That was another issue I’ve had with it along starting and stopping can’t be good for an engine over time, just like DI gunks the shit out of engines over time, and ethanol isn’t good for engines over time.

I think if more manufacturers provided you the option to permanently turn it off I wouldn’t hate it so much. I’m stubborn and like having the engine always one so I would opt for that, but that shouldn’t make it the only way. Maybe I’m more peeved that manufacturers haven’t allowed the ability to completely disable

I love the dots!

Oh well in a manual I don’t see it as being an issue. In fact I’m sitting in neutral anyways, I think the difference fundamentally is with an automatic you go from brake to gas whereas manual brake to gas/let out clutch so the engine is starting in the time you’re using the clutch. In my head it makes sense to work

I can see them being a null issue in a hybrid system since the integration of the electric motor would allow the transition to be seamless.

3rd Gear: Stop-Start Is The Next Big Thing

Arguably new-er cars really don’t have much of a break in period as well...allegedly

I was going to assume that and/or just use the return address of the items once they ship. Thank you

Anyone know when doing the rebate how to put a location on the Amazon.com purchase?

Could also get Roadside Assistance on your insurance which is relatively cheap. But who has got time for that shit...

Sans the Big Bad Villain who will somehow survive and come back for the sequel!

Rock the VOTE!

Always wanted an MS6 and have been eagerly awaiting the day they bring back the MS6. One day the MS6 will be mine, mitigated of all the old issues they used to have!
