the problem is that lots of people need help, and they don't have access to it.

people just need something to be angry about. bill maher clearly isn't racist and I think his one in a blue moon use of the n word or some type of racial slur, half the point, is highlighting how ridiculous it is that racism even exists in the first place, or STILL exists at this point, and assumed for the past 20

i don't think Bill Maher treats his guest "not decently", but how could I know? You seem to not like him personally, which is cool, your opinion, and yeah I would agree he's a little douchey or smug or whatever, but that's his whole shtick! he's had more than 20 years on tv at this point, I think he does that he does

i didn't even realize av club writes a lot about bill maher, but i did assume they liked him. i mean, this guy does more for shining a light on liberal causes, i really don't understand why the hell people are giving him such a hard time recently. he does more than any of us do for the causes we're passionate about,

yeah its really not an opportunity. its like being a musical theatre actor in new york and doing cruise ships. it actually fucks you up and makes casting see you as a "cruise ship actor". people do it for $$$, which yes you can make like 40 grand in 6 months with no expenses

no but i just looked it up and i want to watch it, i just don't know the best 2 hours to schedule for what looks to be a fucking depressing reminder of the world we live in.

consider yourself lucky. it was hard for me to watch Corey go from HOC season one arc to…. the strain.

would just be a whole new set of problems. the complexity of life at that point is something we are not able to explain now

it's a gradual thing. however, the fact that we are realizing this is PROOF that the future is going to be all kinds of f'ed up. at some point we're DEFINITELY going to be living forever, or, our concept of time / reality is just going to be completely different. we cannot change the laws of the universe but we can

i feel like he picks cool indie roles, less mainstream stuff. but yeah watts is on a different league acting ability wise

really truly makes me physically sick thinking about this but you're so right

troof

well said!

kind of an awesome point actually. aside from the asshole celebrity cameos, the casting on this show is pretty fantastic

yeah its pretty cool that they order 18 episodes of this craziness!

i needed this episode. i don't understand twin peaks at all, like at all at all, but going through this rabbit hole of universe / time / dimension / whatever is just what the doctor ordered for me today because our regular reality is too friggen depressing. it reminded me a little bit of the fountain / tree of life.

its not that the writing is lazy, it's just stretched the fuck out. i appreciate the ballsiness of experimenting but it just hasn't been as funny, and I believe the acting has suffered, slightly, as a result. JLD won an emmy for 5 years, i don't think she's gonna get a 6th and 1/2 of that is due to tailspin of writing

he's also made remarks in the past like when he was rescued from being held hostage Mike said something about flying home on Airforce 1 and he said "i'm shallow enough for that to be exciting". and to replace dickface mike? i could see Leon doing that, sure.

i feel like the writers thought the flashbacks were "rewards" for loyal viewers. i did enjoy the spa scene and how andrew said something like "as soon as I heard you were in this vulnerable state, I had to come immediately", but yeah overall the flashbacks were terribly executed and it felt like a bunch of scraps

i just want this show to be perfect again, because it pains me to see it like this, but i don't think it ever will. lets hope season 7 is killer and then they end it, my heart can't take another season 6
