That actually kinda brightens my day.

I like how “aggressive” music fans are the most easily triggered by opinions by total strangers on the internet — I mean my opinions weren’t even all that harsh and easily could be chocked up to difference in taste, but we need the outrage about, er, Daughters I guess — who we’re informed don’t care if we like them

lol

yep. Anthony can like and should like whatever he wants and act accordingly, but that’s some really poor... observations there. Especially for a band that had a street team when they were starting out.

I mean, I’m definitely right.

I saw Daughters play with The Doom Riders in the early-mid aughts when they were still a shitty screamo/grind band that sounded like the Blood Brothers with a dash of the Locust. It was dated as it sounds even then, but I was still mildly surprised they jumped ship to generic noise rock/am rep worship for the next

I was a huge fan of the first film when I saw it as a kid in the late 80s/early 90s, back when it was a well-respected, mostly widely-known, but ultimately not hugely popular thing. It hadn’t been burdened under the weight of too many sequels yet, nor was there the weird fixation on Carpenter that’s sprung up the last

I just replied to another person, but I don’t think any film really could. The same thing has happened to Blade Runner. In the 80s and early 90s it was just a cool film, maybe even a great film, but it can’t help but buckle under the hype of the last 15-20 years. I mean there was a time when Blade Runner was actually

It was tainted by what everyone was saying, yes.

Oh, and his segment on V/H/S II was absolutely phenomenal and weird and great.

I just want to know the real reason he’s not making a 3rd Raid film. His explanations (that I read) didn’t really make sense to me. But I’ll definitely take this either way.

I appreciate this joke. In all seriousness however, I always appreciate it when I see old correspondence from black metal musicians, and they always replace the t with the cruciform (UPSIDE DOWN!). It’s very cool.

I will never understand the comments that amount to, “I haven’t read this and won’t but here’s my  opinion anyway.” I just don’t understand what the point is...

I mean, so is Banh Mi, and I don’t think anyone is upset about white people eating that. Although, maybe people are... I don’t want to know those people, but sure.

that’s kind of awesome. Thank you. I hate twitter but...

The amount of people on this thread who have such a seemingly (and/or willingly) poor handle on the thin line between propaganda and entertainment is kind of astounding. I have this inkling that these same people pissed at you injecting “nuance” into the discussion were probably up in arms about the troglodytic

How is this something you’re getting bent out of shape about. It’s pretty obvious and, yes, at least somewhat interesting comment. I’m as left as they come, but this isn’t a good look.

I honestly don’t get the level of vitriol from armchair leftists you’re getting from this comment. It’s not even particularly damning of the left as it is of the general myopia of both sides. And I say this as leftist.

Wait, so there are now unimpeachable, critic-proof artists? There’s literally no room to say you don’t like someone’s art? And if you do, that proves something more about you than your taste? God, what incredibly boring world this has become. I think Jackson’s music is not for me. More of a hot take: I also think the

A lot of time and confusion would be saved if they just renamed it Music hall of fame. The whole thing is ridiculous anyway.
