Ya know, as the luscious, iridescent, biracial and gay product of one of those trysts that Burr referred to, no one had a bigger cackle than me...because he was absolutely on the money. My own mother was told by her father when she was pregnant with me that she was to terminate her pregnancy because shame and white

Nah I liked the part where White people are faux being outraged at those issues as an excuse to find issue with what he was saying about White people.

Not to mention Egypt. This is pre-Islamic and pre-Arab conquest; Egyptians were (are) Africans, and, in fact, until Gamal Abdel Nasser and his pan-Arabism, Egyptians did not identify as Arabs, at all. It is only extremely recently that people associate Egypt with the Middle East. Until the 1950's and 60's, Egyptians

If the biopic was a revisionist look at her life, I think it could be quite interesting: god knows Cleopatra was a fascinating woman living in a fascinating time, and it would be nice to see someone do her justice on the big screen.

What really gets my goat are the people who call people on the left ‘humorless’ - FFS, name a funny RWNJ (comedian or not).

Yeah I think the bigger issue is that our history focuses so much on white historical figures. There were black African queens and there’s a ton of tribal history that could be covered, but we’re stuck retelling Cleopatra’s story over and over again. How about something about the Mali Empire instead?

Am I the only one who found his delivery weird? Like why was he shouting all the time? I did laugh at the white women joke (cuz where is the lie) but then he just...ground it into the dirt.

Or, y’know, Hollywood could expand its embarrassingly basic supply of go-to historic women and retire the Cleopatras, Marie Antoinettes, and Queen Elizabeths (I & II) once and for all

There are no shortage of fascinating, badass women throughout history, from all over the world, but sure, break out the eyeliner and

Comparing bill burr to andrew dice clay is lazy as hell

The concept of cancel culture sounds like something invented by the right to use every time their shitty cultural icons face retribution for their shitty actions.

Exactly. When its a hard truth for them all of a sudden its offensive and misogynist. How? Because its a truth they don’t want to face that’s how. But when the jokes are reversed and they are actually offensive, “Its all just jokes.” You can almost taste the irony.

If we’re looking for comedians a better retort is Dave Chapelle’s (I know, but anyway) line about white women being in on the heist, just not liking their cut of the share.

Watching Twitter explode with angry wine moms was pretty hilarious

Black women have endured the jokes of comedians coming at us with offensive stereotypes for YEARS-and snl has been a part of that. The white women going off on Twitter about these accurate observations disguised as jokes are the same ones that would happily laugh at us being called ‘Shaniqua’.

Hit dogs holler ! White women are right up there with White men. WW have weaponize their femininity to oppress and aid White men in the exploitation, and harm of all non-whites in this country particularly black people. All while claiming solidarity with marginalized groups and centering themselves in our movements.

I’ve been a fan of Burr for several years, so maybe my perspective colors this. But his persona acknowledges that he’s an asshole without reveling in it. What some people call punching down, I rarely, if ever, see him saying he’s better than those people. Often, he’s saying you belong down here in the muck with me, so

There’s a lot of shit to dislike about Bill Burr, but of all the inane shit he said, the reminder that white women have benefited from white privilege for centuries was accurate and worthwhile. The rest of the monologue though... physically uncomfortable.

I’m confused by the backlash. Haven’t seen the bit, but based on the text...was this news to anyone? Is what he said that controversial? Men and women are racist...soo...what’s this issue?

Yea he ruffled a lot of feathers last night. And I LOVE IT. He went in and White women are made because, as usual, they don’t like to be reminded of their privileges’ or why they have it. Everything is all rainbows and phony smiles and subtle racism hiding behind sugarcoated friendliness.

The nerve of you white women! Listen, I don’t want to speak ill of my bitches here. I dont, but let’s go back in history here, OK? You guys stood by us toxic white males through centuries of our crimes against humanity. You rolled around in the blood money, and occasionally, when you wanted to sneak off and hook up
