I get that it looks tacky. But, I am seriously, earnestly asking: There are costs associated with cleanup. What are they supposed to do?

Why shouldn't they pay? They are littering. Someone, apparently not them, has to clean it up.
I am actually a little troubled that it only costs about $17 to clean a mattress. Seems cheap and not clean enough somehow.
On the other hand, Satan was absolutely correct in thinking that a home birth was adding unnecessary risk for absolutely zero good reason.
Having an opinion and expressing it to the mom-to-be are two very different things. I have a right to think it's stupid and dangerous as fuck to have a home birth in the middle of winter in Massachusetts when the nearest hospital is 30+ minutes away, with only a midwife present (something an acquaintance of mine is…
Yeah, what about that lady that was going to have her baby in a river in front of a bunch of television cameras? Can we have an opinion on THAT?
Why do you say that? He's probably working to support her while she takes maternity leave. He'll most likely help with raising the child. How is that not work?
Nope, sorry, I reserve my right to roll my eyes at the stupid, hippy-dippy things some people do.
So the genuine arguments about journalistic impropriety and transparency shouldn't be taken seriously by anyone because a couple psychopaths made threats?
I have a hard time figuring out exactly what GamerGate is or what the beliefs are, but there definitely seems to be evidence of improper relationships between game developers and reviewers, and collusion between reviewers. Kotaku is one of the sites that being criticized here.

Me and Charlie McGillicuddy used to pull it down on the Atlantic City pier in ought-seven. Made us enough greenbacks for ten lobster dinners a night and while that might not sound like a lot, let me tell you, those lobsters can eat!
Yeah, the headline misses the point that it is valid to sue a biomedical company who doesn't know what's in their vials. Unfortunately, it takes someone to sue, because there isn't a sort of fining agency. How many other people using this service were misled? The trouble they are going to to sue that will benefit…
Just want to remind everyone that this isn't his first marriage. He was once married to this lovely lady:
Irrelevant. It's pen and ink, just like gorey games that celebrate every exploding human head are just pixels and polygons. We as a gaming community have had that argument. No need to switch sides now simply because it's about something you dislike.
First of all, the VAST majority of tentacle porn involves rape. That in and of itself is indefensible for many people. You add on the fact that a lot of rape in hentei involves the victim getting into and actually enjoying themselves during the experience, which in and of itself has a lot of negative connotations…
Please let's not fool ourselves into thinking that this isn't an excuse to simply being alowed to kill and feel good about it, most of the time.
Aren't FPS games more accurately described as murder simulators?
All uses I've seen simply define the word as morally wrong on some level or other.
Tentacle porn. It's quite possibly the perviest, most indefensible phenomena in all of geek culture. It's also the inspiration for a great new card game that debuted in New York City's Lower East Side this weekend, as part of New York University's annual No Quarter exhibition.
