The Promise sounds like my kind of bummer! I was at the LRB bookshop yesterday and saw a few interesting looking books on migrants and the current diaspora crisis, so perhaps they would go well with this film.

It's definitely good for a hate watch, particularly with booze involved!

The final two minutes of Anomalisa are so brilliantly done. What a terrific ending!

I can't help but wonder if Suffragette would have been better had it been a BBC/HBO miniseries. The subject matter is certainly rich enough.

Bound is such a fun film. More queer, darkly comedic, neo-noir caper films, please!
