Ice Cream Planet's LiveJournal™:
*Christ, what an up and down few days. Starting with the bad, I had a group presentation yesterday, and it was fucking massacred by my professor. Fundamental miscommunication on both sides, and since we were the first to present, we got the hatchet job the worst. Thankfully, it looked

Yeah, just ideas that have been floating around and recent developments in real life have skewed so close to what I'm writing, it would be silly not to set aside time.

It's so brilliantly imaginative and strange, and I love that Katherine Dunn just completely went for it. She had her vision and that was that.

Actually, watching those films on Thanksgiving or Christmas would be a great way to be more thankful/empathetic of people.

Man, I loved The Bees. I'll have to tell my friends it's available at such a cheap price.

How about Carol/The Price of Salt by Patricia Highsmith? Just in time for the film!

It's honestly tied for me. They both work so well for each album. I do love how all of their albums, save for the deluxe edition of Not Your Kind of People end with morose songs.

I'm thankful for AVC and all the wonderful people here, and for the fact I'm not celebrating Thanksgiving this year.

The man on the telly?

I like to think it's one of the purest distillations of Garbage's balance between sarcasm and sincerity, the scary-sexy and the tender.

I'm delighted you loved Where'd You Go, Bernadette?. It's such a great comic novel.

I'll add it to the list!

A happiest of birthdays to you, Judkins! I hope your new year is a great one. Best wishes to you, as ever.

Ha! Certainly didn't look like Tom Hardy, but they were both a pleasing balance between rugged and lissome. Really fun people! Hope to hang out with them this weekend or so.

Fuck yeah, AVC meet-up! Fuck no, tolls!

I met my love by the gas works wall
Dreamed a dream by the old canal
Kissed a girl by the factory wall

I've been blogging for a class of mine, which is going pretty well. Creative writing wise, I have three short stories in the works, which is nice.

So much love for the Garbage song. Version 2.0 is one of my absolute favorite albums and that tune was a hauntingly gorgeous way to end it.

You know, he's one writer I've always felt I should read but never bothered to add to my list (although I did, like many people in my age group, like Fight Club). Where would recommend I start with his work?

I have two classes that day and have to prepare for a presentation tomorrow… so my Thursday evening will be spent enjoying some whisky and watching AHS: Hotel.
