You aren't alone. I live in London and when I started reading about the acts on Friday as they were unfolding, it definitely put me on edge. I think anyone who lives in a major European city or American cities like NYC or DC is feeling a bit nervous about other strikes.

I loved A Series of Unfortunate Events so much. They were like the perfect little penny dreadfuls for children.

It's on my list now!

It sounds exquisite.

You and me both.

That's wonderful to hear!

Fuck yeah, Other Guy!

I loved that book so much when I first read it. I think I was 14 or 15 and it beautifully occupied two hot summer days.

I'm assuming it was more the former than the latter, as these things tend to go.

We all have. It's just easier that way.

They don't open their mouths, right?

All the time. Frankenstein, Mulholland Drive,The Wire and Traffik all immediately spring to mind.

Boys?! Kissing?!?!?!

Damn your mind for waking up!

It reminded me of one of the funniest things a friend of mine did on Facebook. She posted some story, typical smarmy uplift, and when some other friends told her how much of the real story was manipulated she wrote, 'Ah shit. Okay, backing to hating everyone.'

Dickens and George Orwell I'm sure would approve. I'm thinking of buying a copy myself.

I need to add some more New Wavey music to my library. Thanks for this.

You say you are not in the mood for something demanding, so your next read will probably be some 1200 page book on the Holocaust or something like The Making of the English Working Class.

Music to my ears!

Is the moral of Freedom that it isn't free?
