Saying that BvS was not marketed to mass audiences is absolutely delusional. Like that is some serious, crazy-train level of delusion right there. It was supposed to make ALL of the money, and it barely made *some* of the money. That’s all the execs give a shit about, and it didn’t even come close to its financial

Yeah, I don’t get the excuse that it “wasn’t made for general audiences.” That’s a Miles Tellar-level excuse for a movie not doing projected numbers. It’s a movie starring perhaps the two most well known heroes ever created. Characters loved and known by people of literally all ages, with generations having grown up

a movie that really wasn’t made for mass audiences

All the female characters are annoying, nagging, and insufferable about their superiority, differentiated only by their hair color. All the guys are plot movers with either no or one-note personalities who spend a lot of time dithering and patiently waiting for the female characters to stop nagging so they can go

Well I haven’t seen the film, but it probably isn’t a stretch to guess her full name in this flick is Jubilation Lee Coulson...

X-Men is a property, that’s one. Superman is a property, as you mentioned, that’s two. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is a property, that’s three and more than enough to support using the plural. I said properties, not franchises. For my money, First Class (despite its many flaws) is better than any of Singer’s entries.

Well, wasn’t that when the original Verne novel was set? Wait! A cursory check on Wikipedia says it was written in 1869 and set in 1866... So, I don’t know why this is news-worthy other than:

I know the X-Men movies make money, but I would very much like studios to stop giving Bryan Singer properties to ruin.

The fact that he feels he needs to tell us that the movie is set when it’s supposed to be set tells me he’s already headed in the wrong direction....which makes me incredibly sad.

C’mon man, get with it; the new 20,000 Leagues will be an American, an American and an American ending up on a nuclear submarine captained by a somewhat swarthy American (or a pale Brit playing American) as they beat those fuckin’ commies into space with good ol’ American know-how and git-’er-doneness.

Someone please take him away from adaptations of all my favourite stuff.

‘Murrica!

I don’t like Singer adaptation of the book.

It’s the same reason I’m setting 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea right after the Civil War. Everything wasn’t suddenly hunky-dory between the North and the South – there was still hostility and tension.

Is it too late for an Operative movie?

If they cast and asian person Marvel wouldve been called out for perpetuating stereotypes.

It’s like someone thought it would be a good idea to reboot David Carradine as an Asian in Kung Fu.

That scene may be my favorite movie scene ever. His reaction is exactly how any person would react to meeting an Avenger. His line to Scarlet Witch is spot on as well.

Lang’s reaction to meeting the Avengers is about what I’d expect it to be. The right mix of excitement and awe.

Scott Lang had the same reaction every person has looking at Chris Evans in person for the first time.
