So when you’re watering your garden you set the nozzle to ‘jet’ and when you’re filling a bucket you set the nozzle to ‘mist’ then? Same thing, right?

And we’d all be able to see again instead of being blinded by others.
Stern gave me good advice 20 years ago when I wanted to upgrade my halogen headlights to HID and he knew what he was talking about then. Here I am now with 25 years experience engineering, 20 of it in the automotive biz and 5 in the automotive headlight biz and he’s still right.
I successfully used an ez-out a couple of weeks ago! It was on something easily replaceable that I didn’t really care about. Wonder when that little bit of karma is coming back to bite me.
How much oil was on the salmon? Probably could have just blown it out and saved the extinguisher if not the salmon too!
I bought some compost a couple years ago from a landscaper and it was clearly from an industrial compost facility and it was garbage:
My cat is semi-wild. He lives outside and comes and goes as he pleases. Sometimes he’s waiting for me on my porch in the morning looking for food and he eats what I give him right away. Sometimes he’s just coming to say hi and and hang out and doesn’t touch what I put out. We used to not even feed him in the summer…
Just looked it up. Apparently I qualify as broke-ass folk.
Sounds to me like they are floundering trying to jump on board the rebranding bandwagon and can’t come up with something that doesn’t offend someone. I suspect Poochie the Dog is behind this.
Related: Don’t you get nervous at the wreckers when you’re working on something balanced on a couple old wheels? Do you bring your own supports or is it a leap of faith type thing?
Same here. But similar to how you can now get flour and yeast in the grocery store again, soon enough you’ll be able to find some peace and quiet outside again. Hopefully.
I’ve had biopace on what was formerly my mountain bike, and now serves touring/general duty for 30 some odd years now and never had an issue with them!I didn’t know the higher end ones were more elliptical than the others.
I used to run michelin on everything, then switched to Schwalbe and love them! What don’t you like about them?
Nice! TIL...
I’ve never seen a black biopace ring before (at least not an actual Shimano branded “biopace”) and it’s hard to tell from the picture if they have been replaced with round rings or not. Do you know for sure they need replacing? The easily replaceable middle ring might be worn out, but usually the granny and big ring…
That looks like it’s got an XT rear derailleur and what might be Deore crankset with the biopace rings swapped out. Good start. If it’s got the matching thumbshifters they have an invisible 8th spot so you can run a (more) modern 8sp setup. Make sure you have a cassette rear hub and not freewheel before you go…
It might on my shopping list! Seriously though, we sure have come a long way in 40 years.
Yep, fish is still firmly in ‘treat’ category at my house. We get (what I am told is) wild haddock and it’s about $24 CAD/kg ($8/lb as decreed by the king of USA)
Sure, from this century. It doesn’t seem all that long ago when 227hp/310lbft was pretty good.... from a 400ci V8
