Midnight In Paris and Blue Jasmine were both pretty big box office hits and Oscar winners. A lot of actors have won Oscars from working with Woody Allen. Diane Keaton (Annie Hall), Michael Caine (Hannah and Her Sisters), Mariel Hemingway (Manhattan), Dianne Wiest (twice for Hannah and Her Sisters and Bullets Over

Soon-Yi Allen is 47 years old, and she’s been married to Woody for twenty years and they have two kids. I’m always struck by how condescending the criticisms of their relationship come across, like everyone else in the world knows better than she does whether or not it was/is a “healthy” relationship. There’s a whiff

He’s still a legend and he’s easy to work with. Supposedly he treats his movies like a 9 to 5 job, no late night shoots and rarely does he ask for second takes and actors love that. On the other hand, that carefree attitude is probably why he rarely makes a good movie anymore. Obviously I’m a fan of his early work

Allen is definitely a creep, but this article can’t even justify itself. Twice the author writes that the age of the female character is unclear, that she is possibly 21, but then unequivocally states “Allen is currently filming a movie in which a middle-aged man has a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl.” The

Also a reminder that Allen is married to Soon-Yi Previn, 35 years his junior and his adopted stepdaughter

This is not true. She was the adopted daughter of Mia Farrow and André Previn.

Fun fact: Farrow and Allen were never married, nor did they live together.

Shut up. It’s not easy for women to come out with stories like this. Reliving the whole experience is painful enough. Then actually talking about it worse. Not too mention that if you’re the only person, no one would believe you. We know that as a fact. So shut the fuck up. These people are survivors and when they

Are you kidding me? Get out of here with that bullshit. I can guarantee you it’s not the only experience like this they’ve had, and their careers would have been ruined had they gone public with it. Fuck you and fuck everyone else whose first thought in the face of blatant systemic exploitation of human beings is

40th time: there are no “sexual misconduct allegations that have been made against CK himself.” The occasional Gawker-y element slipping in around here is a bummer.

swearing isn’t against the terms/conditions of twitter. you can’t get kicked off or suspended for it.

Rose loses her shit on Twitter and is suspended. Our fucking President loses his shit on Twitter and gets rewarded like some god damn heavyweight boxing champion. This world has gone fucking upside down!!!

Also there is Allen in the header, who didn’t do anything wrong (in a criminal sense) but who regularly turns up in Jezebel/GMG articles who insinuate (after Hogan, no more big mouth) that he is a pedophile. Alternating with articles “Roman Polanski said” just to have the commenters baying for the Jewish child

Which, if you’ll re-read the second to last paragraph, I think you will find it is touched on in the article above.

I’d beg to differ on how good the Orville is - this is damn fine TV. It has it’s own style of comedy, where it deliberately lingers on jokes a bit too long, and that extra beat is part of the joke.

But it’s not Trek, that’s for sure. It’s different, and arguably better.

The Orville is a deconstruction playing things

What exactly do people want out of this show? Obviously it’s nowhere near being Star Trek level good, but TNG was even further away from being Star Trek level good in its first season. Most of the comedy misses rather than hits, but at this point I don’t care because The Orville is clearly a sci-fi drama, not a sci-fi

I don’t understand all the reviewer negativity for Orville. As star trek lite isn’t this pretty much exactly what you’d want or expect?

Eh... if you carry Nazi paraphernalia, shout Nazi slogans, espouse Nazi philosophy and call yourselves Nazis, I think it’s safe for someone to refer to you as a Nazi.

There was about a three month period when I was way younger where I visited Aint-It-Cool-News a lot and I read a decent amount of Harry wles reviews. They were pretty bad. I remember he liked just about everything. He liked a lot of things about X-Men 3. Anyway I’m drunk right now how’s everybody doing t0night????

I thought it was gone for good ,but...

... there’s a disclaimer at the top of the article.

Right? Me too. I still feel weird. It really did a number on me.
