I can dislike Bezos and his boat, know that he wasn’t making logistics decisions, AND recognize that he is 100% responsible for the entire fiasco the moment he paid the obscene amount of money to have the monstrosity created.

It almost seems as if someone forced Bezos to order this obscene yacht that flies in the face of practicality and serves as an almost literal middle finger to the hundreds of thousands of people he exploits in order to acquire this towering monument to hedonistic materialism and excess.

I don’t think anything is being flipped. High speed chases are dangerous and most times unnecessary and inefficient. (not my fault that that description also serves as a euphemism for law enforcement in general)

I think you underestimate and also over estimate the role of police. Particularly when it comes to “engage in dangerous behavior that could and often does involve collateral damage” part of things, versus the “more cognitive, investigative, solve crimes and apprehend criminals” part of it.

I’ve always wondered why police would ever engage in a high speed chase. Last time I checked, wreckless drivers have to stop at some point...
