She was the best thing about the full-of-great-things 22 Jump Street.
"You're trying to Mr.-and-Mrs-Smith me!"

The Little Stranger has a similar vibe if you swap out the detective flavour for ghosts and gothic-ness.

Yeah, I didn't really mean it; I was looking for some pop aggregate that seemed relevant and I landed on that. Though I would happily trade Pulp in particular for a few b-sides.

You're absolutely right about the contrast Post brought but I'd argue that Gordon's ear for melody and song construction were what made Veruca Salt special. She's built more 'moments' than Britpop.

I liked Tate more than Tennant, especially the lovely detailing she brought to tricky scenes. But she defaulted to sketch acting during boring or expository business.

Gordon's solo debut reprised 'Earthcrosser' and 'Black and Blonde' was originally a bonus track on that album if that's enough connective tissue?

Y'know, I've been exhausted by Moffat but my preference would be to have him forever, accompanied by a very, very wise advisor whose advice he's compelled to take. He's always been capable and I'm uncertain who in the British television writing firmament has the capacity to take over.

She did get better. And Capaldi and Coleman are, and by some distance, the strongest pair of actors the new run has had.

It tried fairly successfully to sneak in character writing from a Cheever short story but its also a bit of a mess.

*shrug*

As someone who didn't read the fifth book, I'm much happier with how Jon met his end on the show than with that proposal. There was deep seated animosity between the Watch and the wildlings; Jon ignored the politics of allying the two; resentment fomented; he got stabbed. Fair enough.

Not that I disagree with your thrust but he just got stabbed because of his leadership skills.

Dhavernas is also the only one of the main four, really, giving a performance that's recognisably human. The others are sympatheitc to the material but not to any category of person I've ever met.

That scene may make me bail. A woman having a forced hysterectomy killing her child is not something I'd prefer be included on a show that is, essentially, goofballs.

I love Yul but I, to this day, can't believe he didn't suffer significant blowback for his bald-faced politicking. Maybe the first part of my sentence answers the second.

I feel like the challenges are the one area Survivor truly, really, very shows its age. It would only take a medium amount of effort to devise imaginative challenges and they almost never bother.

I had the exact same thought. I don't care if characters are relateable, and specifically if Hannah is, but maintaining the role play nonsense when a stranger had interjected into a situation that was already tipping violent to protect her well-being was the most resonantly callow, naive and self-centred thing she's
