@Jackdilla: Can I get you guys to make a chicken corndog then? Something about how it's laying there made me think "I bet this would make a good corndog".

Don't iMacs use laptop parts? Shouldn't iMacs with nVidia graphics cards from the time period be on the list?

@oldtaku: Reminds me of when my small college town got overlooked by FEMA. We had a "once in a hundred years" hail storm that totalled every car and damaged every roof in town. But because the damage wasn't over a certain dollar figure, FEMA didn't care. It didn't matter what havoc the situation reaped on anyone's

Hmm...that's definitely one angle I haven't seen in laptop reviews. Specs are great, but how much service can I (easily) do myself? Any idea on the easiest to work on laptops? (Sounds like thinkpads and/or Lenovos are pretty easy.)

@Sora57: How else is he supposed to collect your life insurance?

@atrus123: I'm in a similar boat with respect to Linux (though several years out). If I were to build a computer from scratch, it would run Linux. But it's been a long time since I bothered rolling my own.

@Flaeor: It sounds like video gaming is a hobby of yours. There's no harm in having a hobby (usually).

@metronome49: You make a good point. But I was really hoping you were going to describe transcendentalism.

@Robotronic: The appearance of that is what led me away from physics and toward mathematics. I'm sure it only seems like that because we're *not* upper echelon physicists...I hope.

@RikD: This website needs a "ignore all posts from X" feature.

@ninjaroll: Yep, it's got the pretty front end with the powerful V16 under the hood.

@Megazone33: Riiight, I knew I was forgetting a Star Trek reference!

@cmdrtugboat: Yeah, I wonder that as well. It might depend on the atmosphere of the planet. I wonder what the temperature distribution looks like. What temps are likely to be found at the direct, facing the star part of the planet? How about the point furthest from the star?

@daveNYC: Hmm...what makes you think US nuclear plants have anything but good IT security? US nuclear power is probably the most over regulated industry in the US.

@Death_By_SnuSnu: Pretty much a nothingth-c, I think. I know relativity comes into play with satellite communication, so I might be wrongish. Ion drives could theoretically accelerate you indefinitely, but their acceleration is very, very slight.

@Death_By_SnuSnu: 40 years at half c, 80 at c/4, 160 at c/8...1600 at c/80. i.e. It's pretty damn far, though close (relatively speaking).

Printers are useful for me because I can read off a paper more casually than anything else. (Granted, I don't have an iPad.) A printed recipe is also much more durable than my laptop when cooking.

@J_Frank_Parnell: Awe, I expected sky cake (look up Patton Oswalt and sky cake on youtube).

@Norbs: That's a good tip!
