With these jobs, I’ve started to take the approach (if I can’t avoid it) of it’s better to do a half-arsed job than not do it at all. Firstly because it’s true, and secondly because giving yourself that permission gets you over that first step to actually get things started, at which point I often find myself getting

Shut up AVClub!

Now that Delores has gone full Terminator I think Arnold is going to be closest thing we get to a hero for the season, but Charlotte is really going to test that, especially when she realises he’s a host, (if she hasn’t already; she clearly has some extra plot up her sleeve with her hidden room, the dna reading door

Yeah, it is hard to trust that Westworld is being straight with us. I’m not entirely joking about the idea that there might (at some point in time) be two Arnold/Bernard bots and we are jumping between them.

Nah, that was him trying to kill one of those flys that keep getting everywhere. (Excessive, but they’re SO annoying).

Also, who measures time in hours with two decimal places. Or do they not have minutes in the future? That really threw me out of the story for a moment.

Let’s face it, whenever someone says “I killed them/him/her/it” early in a story, they absolutely never mean it literally. x100 if they say it right at the end of an episode as a cliffhanger. My guess is he at some point ends up hanging with William or Delores and accidentally lets slip that there’s some emergency

Yep, brain fluid leading to his ‘brain’ getting corrupted.

I wonder if we should start reconsidering this in the modern gig/”flexible” work pattern economy. Most workers are protected by minimum wage, but for your Uber drivers/deliveroos and similar who don’t have the same protections, we should probably start considering it. Same for people that even Americans wouldn’t

What about the sugar?

I find (admittedly with other people’s kids) “Ok, now what did I say” to be a useful version. There’s something about having the kid say ‘no’ for themselves that seems to help it sink in. It also feels more like a conversation than a dismissal. But like I say, this is me reacting to other people’s kids, so not

For the sake of counter-argument; I’ve had issues with my clothes smelling after being washed, only to discover a fairly unpleasant build up of mould inside. So while washers might be mostly self cleaning, it might be worth the occasional quater cup of bleach just in case.

For all the talk of Jeremy Corbyn (leader of the biggest opposition party in the UK Parliament) wanting to privatise everything, he’s actually suggesting that it should be done gradually as particular contracts come to an end, or that when the banks were bailed out after the financial crisis the government should have

It’s Opera for me. Almost exclusively because ctrl-tab switches me between the last tabs I used rather than cycling through all my open tabs. But also, to a lesser extent, for the battery saver, turbo and vpn.

I can’t help but see Desmond’s washing up when I hear it. Followed by that record scratch...

I thought this was a pretty good anthology episode. It didn’t have some of the great insightful highs that are usually Black Mirror’s biggest hits, but still entertaining. And I disagree that this episode, or any this series, was anti-technology. All this series the tech has been somewhere between benign and positive.

Those Ford guys just REALLY liked soccer.

Alternatively he could have waited until August, or any other of the 8 Months that the puffins are migrating.

When Trump is watching Washington speak, in my mind, he’s making farting noises.
