I totally understand not wanting to experience works of media that are grim, bitter, and unhappy, but it kinda bums me out how many people are making the argument that it’s bad because of that. “I don’t want to play something so unhappy” is fine, but “this is bad because it’s so unhappy” is pretty shitty, IMO.

ding ding ding. it takes its sweet time getting there - and the game it surrounds undermines its point - but i thought it was clear the story examines and deconstructs “misery” (except it’s really grief) then loops back around into “people and life are worth it anyway.” but hey whatever, just our reading.

“This would be great if it wasn’t what it actually is” seems to me an overly elaborate rationalization of trying and failing to like something because everyone else is talking about it.

I’m coming up on a birthday later this month and the older I get, the more the entire month of July becomes a reflection on making the

Just gonna drop Riley’s review here:

I didn’t read the article itself as it contains spoilers. Haven’t finished the game yet but I’m over 20 hours in.. Haven’t seen a baby in the game yet and y’all spoiled it for me before the spoiler warning.. So thanks for spoiling some future stuff in the headline and picture alone! (Unless there’s a baby earlier on

I mean, it had NO marketing. I never saw anything about it until “hey this game just came out!”, so I dunno what they were expecting? You’d think someone at Amazon would understand how generating hype for a product would work.

I think you’d be hard pressed to find anyone smelling of roses in that game lol.

She had a lot of trauma and didn’t have much of a role model.

I regret that I have but one star to give. So here’s your special gif, sir

Considering that Trent Reznor from NIN said that “Hurt” basically belongs to Johnny Cash now, it kind of is his song

iirc, even Trent ceded Johnny’s version as superior and basically said “It’s his now”. Yeah, here’s the direct quote: “Tears started welling up,” Reznor said. “I realized it wasn’t really my song anymore. It just gave me goose bumps up and down my spine. It’s an unbelievably powerful piece of work.”

That art style is still a mistake that will probably kill the game. Either get the actor likeness rights or go with something more stylized. No one wants these off-brand Avengers.

The knockoff MCU designs still look horrible. The designs taken from the comics look significantly better.

The models still look like absolute abominations. I honestly don’t know who decided on this art direction, but its horrendous. Iron Man just looks all wrong.

But this one goes to eleven...

“If 10/10 or 100% is not perfect they shouldn’t use points”

“In my opinion no game ever deserves the highest score, it just can’t be perfect.”

I refuse to play any game that lets a character I like die. I read spoilers of all games, and if a character I think is a good guy dies* then I refuse to play it. I do the same for movies and tv shows.

Just to note, Abby’s not trans, that was just an assumption idiots made because she was muscular.

and i’m here to tell you that that’s stupid and overdramatic. everyone’s just saying “ExpECtatIOn’S sUBveRTeD” without any further elaboration and acting like an unsatisfying story is the ultimate betrayal that destroys everything about the first game.
