In my super small high school we were friends with all the grades - it was no big deal - but there was a lot of crossover in classes. We had the same grade level English and history class, but it was usually joint grade science classes, and then more personalized electives, languages, and math.
So not my experience. But I went to a super small high school, so everyone knew everyone and was pretty much cool with each other. And I took advanced math because at least twice in my life, my math teacher thought my current level was to easy for me, basically handed me a math book and basically said "Here, learn…
