Weird surface people - maybe a few nicer ones this time.

VaulTec had ties to the government, I think the US government (later Enclave) let VaulTec blew up the world so they can pretend it’s not their doing. The fact that the president and his staff escape to the oil rig before the event, meant they knew and had involvement on it.

I think that’s a consequence of perspective. Our perspective was of Cooper, a wealthy actor in LA, who he and everyone around him were largely trying to avoid the reality of things going on. We barely got brief snipets of the wider situation.

Good explanation.

Fallout was so good. And I really appreciated the really weird humor the show definitely wasn’t afraid to embrace. I thought it was a beautiful adaptation of the games that didn’t depend on copying any one storyline

Can confirm.  Used to spend August in Tampa visiting my grandparents.  It’s utter hell.

That would also be a great way of dealing with these big budget series.  It’s not like they have to green light a 22 episode season.

Agreed. The trend of 18-24 months elapsing between show seasons is starting to spread, which in a day of very short attention span viewers and massive competition for eyeballs, is in my opinion a very major mistake…

The kid will be a couple of years older before the first season is in the can, most likely.

He might have been older, but I think he’s also small for his age. I never read the follow up stories so I don’t know how much older he gets, but it makes sense that they’d want to get someone who could do a sequel or two without growing eight inches during production.

I agree, the huge gaps between seasons does not help keep viewers; however, these gaps seem to be due to networks, mostly, renewing shows one season at a time vs. calling for 3+ seasons like they did with GoT (at least to start). This would also lead to writers rushing to get scripts finished instead of working on

Something like that would be awesome. But I think with space travel, and even more so for something like this, “Keep It Simple Stupid” is for the best. At least right now. I hope to see Lunar or Martian Caravans trapesing around one day.

I’m really surprised how fast Westworld fell off the pop culture radar. It went from an Emmy winning, one of HBO’s most popular shows ever to canceled in just a few years. It lost something like 80% of its viewers during its run.

> Thank goodness - no more strikes in Hollywood.

It sure looked like the vehicle was shedding a statistically significant number of heat shield tiles.  That, and the roll rate were a couple things that need attention.  Staying right side up is pretty important.

I think FAA will want to see better control of the booster’s descent before they allow it to approach land. But I’m confident the next launch will provide much of that assurance.

They can probably replace all the tiles in less time than Shuttle needed for typical refurbishment. It’s good they have about 4 kinds of tiles, instead of the thousands of unique shapes needed for Shuttle.

Shotwell should get all the credit.  She is the reason for SpaceX’s success.

I’m fairly confident in SpaceX to get Starship through reentry and perform a soft landing, and if for no other reason the fact NASA was able to routinely do the same for another exceptionally large spacecraft: the Space Shuttle.
