I enjoy how casually cruel Sivanna is. Like when he comes to the foster family’s house and says, “Nice place. Oh wait, it’s actually a shit-hole.”

Hey, those dream kitchens of hers don’t come cheap...
Same here - the Brookfield Zoo just outside of Chicago has giraffe feedings.
That sounds like a thing most zoo’s do, maybe? Or maybe since you mentioned it and my local zoo does giraffe feedings as well.
Interesting question about the scanners. They make it a point to say Ellie has grown up sheltered, so she may have never traveled anywhere where she had to be scanned. We see the Fireflies doing cognitive tests on her when she’s chained up in ep 1, so it appears the Fireflies don’t have scanners anyway- that’s FEDRA…
That is so interesting to me. When I played the game for the first time in 2013, both my kids were really young. In fact, my youngest had only been born a little over a year earlier.
By adding a “reason” that Ellie is immune (because her mother was bitten immediately before the birth) they’ve raised more questions, like: did Marlene ever put it together once Ellie was seen to be immune, and wouldn’t that suggest more research possibilities? (Not that “infect all the mothers” would be much of a…
Yeah. As much as a I like Part 2, that story structure would not work in a show, and was wearing thin about 2/3 of the way through the game. They’ll have to build it completely differently.
I was looking for the billboard for Polygamy Beer: “Take a six-pack home for the wives”
Yeah, me neither, and I’ve played the game pretty thoroughly.
Copium that a lot of gamers who have zero media literacy skills cling to make Joel a hero.
This tracks. Parents are literally all immoral monsters.
I know she was in the game but Ashley Johnson would have been an inspired choice to play Ellie’s mother regardless. There are enough similarities between her face and Bella Ramsey’s that I could legitimately believe them as mother and daughter.
Definitely recognized a few buildings there. If my internal map is correct, based on the the triangulation of the Joseph Smith building, the tabernacle building, and Meeting Hall, the temple should have been right in the middle of the shot.
Utahn here and they put the Plaza hotel in the shot too. I paused to look at the background while they were with the giraffe and the temple is missing right we’re it should be, and it looked to me like they had a duplicate church office building more North which was interesting. They are also right by a scoreboard…
You’re exactly right: the interactions between Joel and Ellie are the best parts of the show and the episode. I love in the beginning of the finale when Joel is so clearly trying to draw Ellie out, taking on the role that she played early in the series as the chatterbox. Pascal does some work here that I cannot even…
It was a really weird (i.e., bad) directorial choice to show Joel’s rampage as a soft-focus montage with dramatic music swelling in the background.
My wedding anniversary is April 1st
Yeah, I think her agency is going to need to sit down with her and gently remind her that while she may be the (probably) irreplaceable star of this show, there’s a decent chance her future opportunities are going to be affected if she has more interviews like this.
They definitely could have packed on another 10-15 minutes pretty easily to flesh out the community and make David’s turn from “hey I can help” to “I’m an evil creep” a little less abrupt. It was still a great episode, but it’s a little wild to me that they took one of the most memorable sequences from the game and…
