I suppose in fairness, that kind of “name everyone after the King” thing was common in real life as well. It’s how we got a billion Henrys and Louises.

I’m surprised they keep going for the really dragon- and battle-heavy spin-off ideas, but maybe the dragons and battles really move the numbers on these things. I’m just saying, they could totally do a really compelling five-season show about the Blackfyre Rebellions, Bittersteel, and the Golden Company that would…
Theatrical runs also seem to boost a film’s success on streaming.
I’m surprised they didn’t have Cravalho in the first place for the Moana TV show. Wikipedia says she’s voiced Moana in a bunch of other random stuff for Disney, including TV bits and cameos in other movies (like Wreck It Ralph 2). How expensive could it have really been to hire her for this compared to a different…
I would hope they’re not giving up on EVs, since there’s still a big market for EV sedans, crossovers, and SUVs.
As with most modern economy seating, the inflight entertainment system has been ripped out of the back and replaced with a “personal device holder.”
Hopefully this is better than the second season, which was a massive let-down after the brilliant first season. Not completely terrible, but it’s telling that the by-far best episode of the second season (“Taizo”) is the one where none of the main living characters has much screen-time.
The tech companies that have done big layoffs have been rewarded for it at the stock market (Amazon, Meta, etc). No surprise that a firm that’s culturally tech-adjacent would be doing that as well to boost their numbers, to say nothing of the firm’s bigger shift towards Texas (I wouldn’t be surprised if Musk is trying…
I remember seeing an A380 at LAX. It looks even more massive than you imagine in person. A major misfire for Airbus, but a cool plane.
They wouldn’t hire her for a random bit part like Lem’s mom. Either she’s a fully invented character or the Prophet - my guess would be the Prophet, and we’ll get some fiddling with timelines so that the Prophet gets martyred around the time that Abby & Friends show up and join the WLF.
Given that they’re built on computer-controlled electric motors, I wonder if you could just program the EVs to handle in a way that prioritizes tire life and trades off some performance for it. Maybe make that an option that drivers that switch on.
Particularly as risk is SpaceX, which operates on federal contracts and is subject to strict anti-drug policies. Elon’s government security clearance is at risk, likewise.
If Musk goes to his board and tells them he wants them to approve reincorporating in Texas, they’ll do it - that’s the whole point of the trial, that the Tesla board is completely in his pocket even more than most boards of directors.
So basically they’ll all just age-gate social media, and anyone under 18 either can’t form an account or gets shunted into some protected corner of the sites? Not the worst thing, although there’s some real privacy risks if the age-gating actually requires ID verification.
What’s the Over/Under on Kelce proposing to Taylor Swift at the Superbowl? It’s got be at least a 20% chance I think.
Definitely overpriced - it should be closer to $100/share. It still dominates EV sales and has good profit margins, but the high valuations were always based on nonsensical expectations of stuff like “Tesla’s OS will become the new Windows for EVs” and so forth.
As of this writing, Tesla’s fall-off after the earnings call sat at over 12 percent, though shares have started strong with a one-percent jump this morning. We love the wild swings of The Economy, don’t we folks?
They need to drop the structure from the game and just have an expanded version of the flashbacks plus events in Ellie’s journal be the second season. Alternate between “Ellie” and “Abby” episodes, end the season with Ellie estranged from Joel and Abby and her crew starting the trip to Jackson.
They want to keep their contract with the city and the NYPD has enough clout that it could jeopardize that. Or they made it clear when the cameras were put in place that they wanted certain cars to not get tickets.
It’s probably because the cars belonged to NYPD or their friends and family. They can wave their get-out-of-traffic-violation-free to any traffic cop, but you can’t do that to a speeding camera.
