I believe most systems like this are intentionally programmed to ignore stationary objects at highway speeds. Without this concession the number of false alerts resulting in auto panic stops would make these systems unusable. This seems to be proven by looking at the type accidents that are in Tesla’s history.

Now why don’t you take a long, close look at this ‘67 GT500, Mayor Vaughn-- These wheel-to-sidewall proportions are correct.

You do realize that many of those crises passed because people made a genuine effort to fix them, right? Y2K lead to significant changes in firmware and computing. The hole in the ozone layer lead to a comprehensive change in the refrigerants people used, resulting in a reduction of CFC emissions so drastic it

Re: ozone layer. The world did make an effort to reduce ODSs via the Montreal protocol and now the layer is making a (slow, but measureable) recovery according to the EPA.

Al of these look 100x better than the wheels on that monstrosity of an suv though.

The “dog dishes” on the current (sadly cancelled) Beetle are a nice touch as well.

He said he wanted to land in jail when he steps on the throttle. Technically pulling out of the driveway onto public roads requires ‘stepping on the throttle’.

And a weed is just a plant that no body wants, but let’s ignore how increased CO2 in the upper atmosphere is a detrimental greenhouse gas affecting our weather (and eventually everything else) and just call it a liberal agenda.

Pollution is a relative concept. It’s good for somethings (i.e. plants) and bad for a lot of other things. When you have more CO2 production than the plants can consume, technically speaking, CO2 becomes both food (what the plants can consume) and pollution (the excess that plants cannot sequester). You are right

well, i guess ‘street legal’ wasn’t explicitly mentioned, so there you are

He didn’t say he didn’t not want to kill himself.

No, but that’s how it should work.

Is it? I view it more as a young person’s car. They aren’t overly expensive and are a great bang for the buck. The Corvette or SL roadster seems more midlife crisis to me

He didn’t say he wanted to kill himself.

I get your point as well but I don’t this is necessarily the same as OSHA directives. Having a moving target towards a particular goal is engineering 101. Whether it be a 6 sigma or Kaizen methodologies. As car makers get better at succeeding, but you still have unacceptable outcomes (auto accident deaths) then you

I can decidedly say that I’m not a fan of those. Not a bit. The Fiat 500 1957 edition on the other hand... dunno.

STOP with the black wheels already.  It’s CANCELLED.

The video is deceptive in that the light was not as severe as portrayed. Anyone who films with night vision knows this. Videos from the time of the accident clearly demonstrated that the victim would have been readily visible if the driver had been looking.

Thank you for saying exactly what I wanted to say. Assigning blame is for courts. NTSB reports are for everybody to learn something in the interest of safety, not punishment.

My 20 years or so of being politically aware have taught me that the Democratic party and Republican party are both largely cartels which dangle carrots (abortion, guns, immigrants, whatever) to the masses in whatever way is necessary to get their votes such that they can remain in power and funnel money and valuable
