How do you safely surf the web though open an wi-fi connection? Or safely check web email for that matter? I know it's a vague and newbe question, but I've generally avoided doing any of that.

@Radio Silence: My problem is to figure out how to handle a very large amount of records and cassettes. So many need to be split into different files for each track. If I could find a solution were I could hit play on a cassette tape, walk way and come back to a folder with individual files to rename, then do
