I drive a company vehicle for work, which means that I almost never speed on the job (I want to keep the privilege, thank you very much) but I will get past any vehicle like that as quickly as I can. That is true of trucks in general, not just of ones with questionable loads. I once had a semi cut me off in traffic,

Now playing

He wasn’t. It was a sheet of glass from a truck that cut his head off while he was on foot:

Yeah, Davies is the one who fails to stop it.  I am actually not that huge a fan of the movie myself, so I got that mixed up.

She is a social movie goer, not a movie follower, and had neither read nor heard a single thing about it. Not a history buff, either. She knew it was a war movie and really did not want to go, but had no idea what kind of war movie that it was. She went despite her reservations because her ex wanted her to go. She

My wife’s ex-husband took her to see Saving Private Ryan in 1998. She is extremely sensitive and cannot handle violence & killing in movies. Interestingly enough, while the whole Normandy landing was awful for her, the thing that really got to her was the slow push in of the knife in Jeremy Davies’ death scene. She

My mom’s story almost took a darker turn one day after seeing the movie when she was home alone in the kitchen making dinner and cutting things with a chef’s knife. She did not hear my dad come home, and when he innocently walked into the kitchen to say hello, she whipped around with the knife in her hand and missed

My dad took my mother to see Psycho in 1960, and since then to this very day, she has never taken a shower while home alone again.

I have exactly zero interest in a big-screen adaptation of the series, but I would follow Michael Pena anywhere. I would love an Ant-Man spinoff featuring only Luis. (Actually, I would dearly love to see a spinoff team up of The Adventures of Luis & Ned, but I am not holding my breath for that one.)

According to ESPN’s numbers people, he hit 18.2 mph as a top speed. Even if that was only for 10 yards of the whole run, that is still pretty damn quick for a 329 pounder. But not really that surprising, since when he does punch through the line, he can be shockingly quick getting to the quarterback.

Holy buckets, do I ever need those Sour Cream & Onion ones. Even if I never actually make them, but rather just look at the package periodically and marvel at it.

Bob Woodward criticizing the usage of anonymity is like Pablo Escobar criticizing drug cartels.

Did the EXACT same thing. Had my heart set on a Fiesta ST, and went to the dealer to try one out, but they did not have one on the lot at that moment. So I sat in a regular Fiesta to see how I fit in it, and could not get the seat back far enough to be comfortable.  Test drove a Focus ST instead, and ended up driving

I still have friends who maintain that the free market would have solved Jim Crow eventually.  But it is kind of challenging to get them to commit to a timeframe for how long it would have taken. . .

I would have bought a Chevy SS instead of the RS, if any dealer could have gotten me one in Orange Blast metallic with a manual — Chevy kept throwing those 20% off summer clearance cash at them! But no one could get me one, so I ended up with an on-the-lot RS instead. And no regrets there, to be sure. Fortunately, I

Former Focus ST owner who is now a Focus RS owner. If anything happens to that, I am basically screwed. I don’t consider the Golf R to be an alternative, thanks to the Haldex. Not sure what direction I would go, because I really love the feel of the AWD system in the RS.  (Well, everywhere but in a parking lot, that

I can't stand Schumer, but I have to admit that this was extremely well played on his part.

I lived in North Minneapolis back in the Nineties and ate at Pho 79 three days a week. I ate at other places on Eat Street the other four days. That restaurant was my introduction to Vietnamese food, so I will always have a soft spot for it, but it is not my first choice these days. Quang is wonderful, but my go-to

If you are on the Minneapolis side, find Eat Street, which is the stretch of Nicollet Avenue that runs a few blocks north of the interruption on 29th, and the North Loop. Or in St. Paul, either Frogtown (the stretch of University west of the capital) or the whole Selby/Grand area on either side of Dale south of 94.

I doubt that there is a whole lot of training on expecting one to roll at you sideways, or to fall off a truck.
