No, but you should watch Shattered Glass.  He is not just good in that movie; he is very good.

It is a Fred Dekker (Night of the Creeps) movie, though Black cowrote the screenplay.  It is the intersection their two sensibilities which makes the movie interesting.  (And for what it is worth, they are collaborating again on the new Predator movie.)

The forward cup holder in my Focus RS is also completely worthless.  When I am driving anywhere with my wife and we both have beverages, mine goes in the rear cupholder, and I have to make her hang on to hers so that I can shift the thing.  Not a good design.

Unless I am on a long trip with extended freeway driving, I try to always keep both hands on the wheel. Even when I am driving my company car during the workdays, which is an automatic. Habits from casual driving will impact habits for performance driving. That is one of the best lessons that I ever picked up from

Yeah, if you have your hand on the shifter while it is in neutral, you are going to accidentally do the same thing while it is in gear.  It is always better to just avoid that habit so that it does not crop up when it should not.

Marcella Hazan's butter and tomato sauce is food of the gods. The plebes can turn their noses up at it all that they want; more divinity for the rest of us.

Clarification: my ass was born in Minnesota, and it hates lutefisk with the fire of a thousand sons.  The one does not necessarily imply the other.

As long as the Outback is relegated to its rightful place in Hell, there is balance in the universe.

I would be happy to support the new Regal wagon, which seems like a fine car, but it is not really a performance vehicle, and would be a huge step down from my RS in that respect.

I have never really been particularly obsessive about German autos, unlike many car buffs. Not even particularly into Porsche, let alone BMW or Audi. If I was willing to spend $100,000 on a car, I would probably get a specced out CTS-V and call it a day. Cheaper maintenence & insurance, and every bit a damned fine

Isn’t “because it was there” sufficient justification anymore?

I play RPGs (or immersive sim variants) partly because I simply enjoy them, but partly because they provide a drug & alcohol free escape from reality. But the funny thing is, I am less interested in the “lighter” ones than I am in the deeper games that force you to make difficult, no-win choices. I actually enjoy

Or any of the truly wondrous European wagons like the Audi R6 Avant. Which is admittedly not that affordable. . . But I would seriously consider going into debt for that.

I know that this is a dead issue in this country, but man, affordable performance wagons is one category of vehicle over which I must cast a wistful tear. I mean, I love my hot hatch, but I would love a hot wagon even more. If you can build a stellar performance hatchback for $40,000 or less, no reason that you could

I have older Scandinavian relatives who display mini Norwegian or Swedish flags with their trolls and other tchotchkes, wish is silly enough, but whatever. Still a far cry from celebrating Viking slaughter, or the subjugation of other races.

My T-Bird had a 400 in it, which was definitely not stock. The guy who sold it to me had put it in, gone hooning with it, and immediately blew the transmission. So he had to put a new transmission in, too. Can’t remember how many miles that it had on it, but I bought it from in in 1998 or so for $1500, and it was in

I just want to slap anyone with the whole “this is our heritage” garbage. I am of Scandinavian descent; here is my heritage:

You know what that reminds me of — and in a very positive way? A snow-covered version of Vincent Ward’s unused concepts for Alien 3, which was neo-Luddite monks living on a wooden planetoid which was freezing due to the fact that the monks were deconstructing it to burn it and keep warm, which only hastened the cold.

Not directly, no. There are general principles which could be applied toward legal concepts which arose later, of course. But that double-damns Sessions & his ilk here, because all of the general principles which would be applicable in this case tell him to do exactly the opposite that he is doing here. Care for the

As someone who is not a Christian, you understand the passage much better than most Christians do. It is exactly an extension of “render unto Caesar” — the idea being to live quiet & peaceable lives in the world, obeying the law, paying your taxes, etc. Something that the likes of Session is not making much of an
