I disagree. If someone who pretends to have respect for basic Constitutional civil liberties still violates them behind the scenes, then what will someone who has no respect for them whatsoever do? Better? I think not. Especially considering the childish lack of patience exhibited by the individual in question.

All true. But while this is never going to happen no matter how much Trump may want it, the real issue is that he wants it. This is the mindset of the sitting President of the United States of America. Not even Richard Nixon would have floated that kind of idea publicly. Mind you, Nixon would have worked

It must be result great to have someone that you CAN cook with. I find that I get a much more satisfactory end product if I do not even allow my wife to enter the kitchen.

The flips side for many, of course, is that exercise can trigger headaches, at least during a cycle. They do for me. So once a cycle starts, I am screwed outside of medication to break the cycle. But once they are gone, it is a key to keeping the cycle from coming back.

They are not something which welcomes A/B testing.

“’It restores the trust between local communities and Washington,’ Zinke said adding that it will also ‘give Americans a vice’”

Well, YMMV. It did not work for me. But as you know, we are willing to try anything. You may want to experiment with putting it under your tongue first, which has also worked for some people (and if it stays under your tongue and does not spill out, you will not feel the burn so much.) Never have figured out why he did not make the move to baseball during his exile. He is clearly capable of performing as a switch hitter.

“What’s the difference between taste and flavor? Flavor depends on three factors: taste (whether something is sour, salty, or sweet), olfactory sense (the smell of the food), and trigeminal sense—the way your nerves sense that food. Capsaicin, the active component in hot peppers, stimulates your pain receptors, making

It is nigh-unto impossible to separate an actor’s on-screen persona(s) from his real life countenance. The two may be polar opposites.

I have never seen that before — and not only is “Roads” my favorite Portishead song, it is one of my favorite songs, period.

“It’s beside the point, and it says a lot when, to make carrying out the death penalty seem civilized, you have to compare it to brutal criminal acts. Maybe we should analyze the death penalty on its own moral and practical merits instead of judging it by the standard of the worst people in our society.”

Still waiting for the “no one got hurt, so it should not be a felony” comments that usually accompany this sort of thing. . .

Well, my post was mostly a setup for that punchline. Because the reality is, yes, we will survive Trump. The power of the Presidency is vastly overrated — as Trump himself has discovered, much to his chagrin. He cannot just do everything by divine fiat.

“The actual price is not $8000. It’s $7950. You’d hope shipping will be included in that.”

This country has survived much, and will continue to survive. It survived the pettiness & mendacity of Richard Nixon, though at least he combined it with (relatively) good governance. It survived the (relatively) incompetent governance of Jimmy Carter, though at least he combined it with good personal character. So

From Balko’s article:

And it never got old, either!

One step forward, two steps backward. Way to clean house.

We have reached the Orwellian point where the media in general is afraid to call a lie a lie for fear of appearing “biased” — which of course means that they are favoring allowing falsehoods to stand, and that can hardly be called “objective.”
