We wants it in our yard. Now.

Thanks. Now I am missing Cord Jefferson.

I am sure that they do. But that is one helluva for-granted!

Well, yes, that is just it: how on earth could the entire coaching staff just sit there and not notice?

The media, with the help of a lot of “advocacy” money from McDonald’s. In agreeing to the final amount, she also ended up with a gag order, but McDonald’s had no such problem. (The video in the story above does address that point, though it fails to note the gag order.) So McDonald’s shares blame for manipulating

Like I said, I may be a trifle older than you are. Keep in mind that the media landscape was quite different in 1964 and in the decades which followed. Pre internet/new media, footage like that was not exactly a dime a dozen. The Marshall run really stood out.

I am guessing that you may be a bit younger. Marshall’s wrong-way run has always been one of the most legendary mistakes in NFL history. There have been a lot of films & videos about it over the years that are even longer than three minutes! But I do think that time has diminished its impact a bit.

Yes, but it is not like they have never had to figure out which end to defend after halftime prior to that!

The mind-boggling thing is that Marshall was one person, with his teammates screaming at him to turn around. In this case, the entire Blue Devils team — including the bench, apparently — was confused. How is that even possible?

All that he was doing by running the wrong way was to try to confuse his opponents into defending the wrong end zone. Sure, he gave up points in the short run, but he was clearly playing the

Appropriate:

I am glad that it was not just me.

Body-shaming is passe. Wardrobe shaming, on the other hand, never goes out of style.

Oh yes, ignorance is universal, not partisan. It is just that I have seen more on one side of the aisle than the other who will actively vote against their own best interests.

She was not seeking punitive damages, but as you said, the jury was so disgusted that they awarded an astronomical sum anyway. If you look at some of the testimony given by the McDonald’s people, it is astounding that they actually thought a jury would side with them. The pretty much openly admitted negligence.

All the stars in the world for managing to connect Shel Silverstein to the NFL, and in an appropriate fashion, too.

I just looked it up, and there was indeed a gag order. Here is an editorial from 1995 by her son-in-law:

Damned Swype. “High,” not “huff.”
