@mkirkland: Or as feedstock for cows- as an alternative to using ground up remnants of other cows, that agricultural cannibalism being part of what lead to the whole Mad Cow fiasco.

@whormongr: But I'm willing to bet you normally wouldn't eat fresh pig intestines, or a lot of the other stuff that ends up going into sausage. But sausage is tasty and looks bland, so it works.

@Arken: Mmmmm, I could go for some longicorn beetle larvae pie.

@ITIL_Prince: Well, two things about that assessment. First, its conditional on the .22 headshot coming from close range- otherwise, the round might have trouble penetrating the skulls of the bone, much less ricocheting around inside the skull instead of just coming to rest. Second, that assessment generally refers

Well, insects don't really have "meat" per se. Might not be a bad candidate for making generic protein stock, though. Sort of like insectofu.

@shhhGoToSleep: Wait wait wait, go back to the part where you imply that the lethality of a .22 rimfire is the same as a 5.56mm NATO rifle round, because they technically have the same caliber.

@hostile-17: Which might be exactly why it is.

@coodgenducta: Yeah, butane would be a great candidate. I'm down with that idea.

@tsdexter: I know! I mean, its not like any of my OTHER portable devices are able to get by on a USB or miniUSB port! I mean, the other day, I tried to load 2 gigabytes of new maps onto my GPS, and the Sun literally got so old that it became a red giant and burned me and the GPS to a crisp before the transfer

@A Magician Named Gob: Well, I think the difference might be that power outlets are basically everywhere, and every hotel lobby has a big box of adapters behind the front desk.

@blyan is not on fire: Actually, in all honesty, I would not put it past Apple to make a proprietary nozzle for the refueling port, so that you have to buy a tank of hydrogen or ethanol or whatever with an Apple logo on it. I mean, the iPod/iPhone could easily have just used a microUSB port, but nooooooo...

Question-

@vel0city: This is the shit that's been holding me back from jumping on the smartphone bandwagon. I can't stand a release schedule which makes me feel compelled to spend $200 on an upgrade every 12 months.

Man, that laptop-mimicing dock is terrible industrial design. It looks so awkward and flimsy, having the phone sitting there and spooning with the laptop monitor. They should have the phone slot into the front base, and let it become the touchpad for the laptop.

I'm sure that the corporate might of Jamba Juice will find a way to eliminate this threat to its smoothie empire.

@Michael Scrip: Additionally, you can adapt MicroSD cards to SD slots. You can't really adapt SD cards to MicroSD slots.

@geekymitch: I'd wait and see on how Windows 7 adapts to tablets, though. Unlike the previous windows OSs, you can tell that they've actually been anticipating having this OS go onto tablets for a while- or at touchscreens, at least. That's why if you look hard enough, you'll actually find touchscreen-specific

@zeroprime: Hm, so the tablet is both longer and a little narrower. Too bad, I think everyone is really missing out by not going for that form factor.

@geekymitch: Not a bad idea, although I think that in order to pull that off effectively they'd need to add in a bunch of apps that took advantage of the increased size and power- full fledged Word and Excel apps (preferably with a handwriting recognition interface option), maybe a photo-editing app, etc.
