@Maritan: And that mustache, too. That is a stache of power. Once Dom gets over his dead wife, he should shave that "Grizzly Adams beard of ultimate manly depression" down to just the mustache.

@zoompooky: Its possible that the lawsuit will go well- however, even if it does, CoD and IW both belong to Activision outright. The two founders bear a legal claim (thanks to an earlier contract) to the Modern Warfare IP. So, they'd be able to start a new company somewhere else and develop more Modern Warfare games

@Trencher-1: Its been said that part of the problem with the occupation of Iraq is that soldiers aren't really trained to occupy civilian areas for prolonged periods- that's the job of police forces. So you take a bunch of soldiers with battlefield training and a (rather justified, in its usual context)

Both male and female Shepherd could get their female yeoman to give them spicy lap dances while wearing a stripper outfit, and then cuddle on the bed. Apparently that didn't require extra content or rewritten scenes.

@OkayOctane: The "Kotaku staff" bit was mainly referring to the fact that Mike Fahey was responsible for the "GTA IV RUINED A YOUNG WRITER'S LIFE" article.

@OkayOctane: Yeah, except the officer didn't specifically blame videogames, or explicitly name them at all, and was even more generous regarding the recruit's potential in the full article than what the quotes here would imply.

So between this and the "GTA IV RUINED MY LIFE AND TURNED ME ON TO COCAINE!" article, is this "videogames are bad for you" day on Kotaku, or something? Did Jack Thompson finally managed to edge out Miller Ice for sponsorship dollars?

"When I was walking home from my neighbourhood game store with my reserved copy of GTA IV in hand, I called my friend to tell him. He let me know that, to celebrate the occasion, he was bringing over some "extra sweetener". My friend's taste in recreational drug abuse vastly exceeded my own, and this extra sweetener

@Eruanno: I think they meant 16 gig USB thumbdrives, genius.

@Kynes: Oh, I think that if she was familiar with a zapper or similar toy gun, and you sat that toy and a real gun next to each other, and asked her which one was her toy, she'd pick the right one. I'm not saying that the kids are colorblind. But I don't think they'd understand the difference between "toy gun" and

"I can now see how the child could have mistaken the real gun for the toy"

But... I already have a copy of RF Guerrilla.

Actually, this makes a surprising amount of sense. The game was horribly made from a technical sense, but it had some interesting concepts. From what I saw and played of it, I get the feeling that the whole scenario would make a much better movie than it was a game.

@1Mystic-G: Well, its not even just a purely cultural thing, I think, so much as a frame of reference thing. I'm sure if a lot of those same mainstream guys sat down to play it, they'd probably enjoy it, if only for its hilarious off-the-wall antics.

@1Mystic-G: Also, your mainstream American audience looks at Bayonetta sitting on a shelf at Walmart or GameStop and doesn't even know what its looking at. Some sort of... fighting game?... with... crazy chick in latex... and angels?... or... whatever, its the Japanese.

I know this doesn't really mitigate the situation, since they are the majority of color blind gamers, but from the examples provided, it looks like only the deuteranopia's are screwed. The prots seem to have enough contrast to tell the sections apart, and the trits can't go wrong with blue, because whatever the case

@KichiGuy: I'm hetero too, actually. But I'm also a proponent of gay rights, and I just think its sadly typical that its apparently only acceptable for the main character to be gay if they're a girl. Its pretty much the same thing as if the character creator didn't allow you to make Shepherd black, because he's the

@SugaMama: ... ok, so, apparently sourced references aren't enough, so I'm just going to cut straight to the youtube video it took me all of 10 seconds to find.

@Slagathorian: Only when it either needs to be done illegally or when people cross state lines to get it done, as happens in your aforementioned pro-life abstinence-only areas.
