I'm Out Like a Trout, Gawker

Lifehacker has been posting a lot of these types of "one-size-fits-all", "i-know-best-so-do-what-works-for-me" articles lately. Productivity is different for everyone.

I know. I am not disparaging TextEdit, I know it's tempting to immediately start bashing MS for this, but my intent was just to post an easy solution for other people who use both platforms like I do.

Yep, pretty annoying. I have my work documents on Dropbox, and use my Mac and Windows machines fairly equally. So for users that have to open their text files on both platforms, TextWrangler is the way to go, you set the default line break to Windows CR character, and never deal with that annoyance again :)

The annoying thing about TextEdit is if you are cross-platform, the line breaks that it uses don't play nicely with Windows text editors, at least not Notepad (I hate Wordpad). I have switched to TextWrangler (a great free alternative that is more powerful, kind of like Notepad++ for Windows), as it allows me to set

I'm going to try playing with it a little more. Instead of creating a scheme, i was just testing it by marking as complete one of the schemes that come up that others have created or are popular. That did not give me the option, it was only "public" or "cancel".

"Deep dive"

From what I can tell, there is no way to add a "scheme" or check it as done without it being public on your google+ profile. I can't find any way to make it not public. Do. Not. Want.

LOL, I had forgotten, but you are so right!

OK, so technically this is a motorcycle game, and it came out for Sega Genesis in 1991: Road Rash. But, you got to ride 80's crotch rockets on PCH and out in Palm Springs, racing other people while beating them with bike chains, knives, and bats, from your saddle.

Sad pedobear is sad...

Heart click worthy fo sho.

I think we're talking about different types of PM's. I was more referring to vendor-based PM's who manage implementations for customers, rather than internal PM's working for the PMO. :)

A little different, but from the same folks as Onyx is a tool called Deeper, that lets you get in and customize settings deeper in your system that don't have easy ways to do it from the normal Mac GUI.

Look for a Project Management position. They are almost always telecommute, but do often require lots of travel...

Yes, I also self-immolated and self-flagellated just to increase the level of fun.

the battery of the wakemate would die in the middle of the night, not the phone.

Don't worry, it will come to your country too soon enough...

never tried one as they are expensive and hard to get in the US, but Philips makes a sunrise lamp.

i bought one of those wakemate's and returned it right away, it simply didnt work. battery would die in the middle of the night and not wake me up. also if you walked away to use the restroom in the night, and your phone lost bluetooth connection to it, it woudl fail for that too. too much hassle

I have avoided remote support options like TeamViewer or LogMeIn for doing these "favors", as it is a slippery slope. Once they know you can just instantly remote in, you are going to see a 5x increase in your support calls. And it will be even harder to put it off as they know how easy it is.
