@grieser117: there is an immense amount of pressure at a mile down. It takes very specialized equipment (of all types) to withstand this.

Anyone know if there are cheaper alternatives that do the same thing?

Anyone else notice at 2:06 the iPhone is playing the illicit MP3 at 4:20

@Tensor: in many cases yes. especially in some lines of work. anything involving heavy equipment, driving, healthcare, etc, since they can't pinpoint when you had been under the influence and if it was during work or not, when you were on call, etc.

@vinod1978: what new rules are these that you speak of?

Excellent piece!

SETEC ASTRONOMY

@CaptainJack: Wow too funny. Here's what's on the text-only site version.

these signs are in a lot of airports, i saw it at john wayne (orange cty) recently a few weeks ago and my gf and I lol'd

@rew.kim: is it a fanny pack?

For everyone saying "What's the point, why is this better than HDMI?", please see the following chart comparison. The reasons are many!

@thinkthis: for now. it's easily scalable up to 1 Gbps in a future version of the spec without changing the physical medium.

@Chon: you're kidding right? if not, the whole point of this new spec is to use standard cat5e/6 cable (i.e. network cables). if you are, then well, my sarcasm meter just needs a recalibration and I apologize.

@Søren Holm: Same here. Wish I knew how to make it be fixed in Gmail when I receive emails from Outlook users. My gf frequently emails from work but the J's show up. I guess I'll try to get her to change her settnings.
