ehhh... i’ve read it before and can’t put much stock into the platform. looking at what nixon and the gop actually did is a much better indicator. and it’s bad.

women can vote. slavery is illegal. schools are desegregated. gay marriage is legalized everywhere. roe vs wade. interracial marriages are allowed. more social programs now than there has any time in history. the voice of the lower class is louder now than it has ever been.

america is less racist than it was when boomers were children. it’s less racist than it was when gen x’ers were children. it’s less racist than it was when millennials were children.

since it’s founding this country has gotten more liberal with every generation. do you think that’s going to stop?

it’s easy to make fun of sites like tumblr and twitter. but i truly love them because teens are so active in political and social discussion on them. yeah they will say clumsy things at times but at least they’re thinking about this stuff.

i would normally agree with this sentiment. but this time is different imo. the victims were still children but they’re old enough to speak out for themselves. and platforms like twitter, snapchat, and youtube are making it much easier for their voices to be heard. these platforms are no longer used by just teens and…
