so i’m probably buying plane tickets for dc tonight. who else is considering going?

that’s what i’ve been thinking about. the shooter was a part of his base. he was wearing a maga hat in his fucking instagram profile pic.

“Maybe if the school personnel were armed...”

“Maybe we could start a Kickstarter to give every single black/brown person in America an AR-15. I bet that gets some whispers, at least.”

jesus fucking christ. trump has blamed everyone except for the fucking shooter.

“In almost all other respects the US is no better than it was 60 years ago and, judging from who is in the WH, you could argue it’s actually worse.”

“Those were things that should have never been a part of the country from the very start.

things are always going to be threatened. progressives need to keep fighting. it’s going to be a constant struggle. i can’t argue with any of your examples. we had jim crow and it was replaced with mass incarceration, we had roe v wade but now the right is using economics to fight against abortion, etc etc. the right

ehhh... i’ve read it before and can’t put much stock into the platform. looking at what nixon and the gop actually did is a much better indicator. and it’s bad.

i’m not putting words in your mouth.

women can vote. slavery is illegal. schools are desegregated. gay marriage is legalized everywhere. roe vs wade. interracial marriages are allowed. more social programs now than there has any time in history. the voice of the lower class is louder now than it has ever been.

it’s easy to make fun of sites like tumblr and twitter. but i truly love them because teens are so active in political and social discussion on them. yeah they will say clumsy things at times but at least they’re thinking about this stuff.

i would normally agree with this sentiment. but this time is different imo. the victims were still children but they’re old enough to speak out for themselves. and platforms like twitter, snapchat, and youtube are making it much easier for their voices to be heard. these platforms are no longer used by just teens and

it’s crazy to think that every student at douglas high school was born after columbine. like school shootings have been the norm their entire lives.

“we are very troubled by this”

yep. the rhetorics might be different. but other than the muslim ban i can’t think of anyway that mitt is different than trump when it comes to actual policy.

i thought that cowherd/jason whitlock show on fs1 was really called “all takes matter” until like a month ago
