@i.am.mozman: I just realized that maybe I remember right. ;-)

It can also log all the encountered networks with GPS coordinates if I remember right. There was a guy who mapped out all the open networks while paddling around Seattle if I remember right.

I'm not sure how accurate it can be, with the amount of flights, some are bound to be hosed up. Right now all the airports are yellow saying 16 to 45 minutes. Also, what are the odds of it being correct in the 3+ hours it takes me to fly there.

Woot! Combined with del.icio.us and I can now tag directories that corporate loves to give boring names to.

My problem is that I jump time zones a lot, so any sort of circadian programming would be out the window every other week. Yes, I know I could stick to east coast time but I actually enjoy spending evenings with my wife when I'm home.

I'm at sitting at a Dell that I already installed ubuntu on. If I need something that only M$ offers I boot up a VM or VNC into another box. But open source and wine take care of a lot.

The google map plug-in doesn't seem to like to search by description as was the tip yesterday. What I mean is if I search for "home" it brings up Home Depot and such, not the address I have labelled as home.

One thing I want is an RSS feed, so as I add locations others could see without having to bring up the map.

Here's a quick one for some of the geocaches I've found.

I'm on the road a fair amount, so it would be nice to write a map up to show my wife and co-workers where I'm at.

Schedule interruptions. If I'm swamped I'll put a sign in the window of my office saying "busy, available at 1:00 or via email" and just keep outlook off for an hour or so. If anything is "mission critical" (ewww, corporate lingo) I'll get a phone call.

@shrikedoa: Wouldn't the black-on-white show up better than silver-on-black in the dimness which lies beneath the desk?

@savedsoul: Thanks for clarifying. I'll admit to knowing just enough to be dangerous, and not much more.

Make sure to wash it as the solder has lead in it.

I got two old cast-off GPS units from my dad a couple months ago. I have since taken the kids geocaching a number of times and they have all enjoyed it. So far I've got a few here in CA, a few in Reno and a few in Des Moines (Can you save the Princess?).

Wasn't floating the net a few months ago?

I've got one that has over 300 slides. Of course, that is for an entire week's worth of training.

I second blindbug, get a backpack. One walk across O'Hare and you'll be a believer. As for the contents of mine:

This is just a php page, right? So anything with a small screen that hits the web should benefit. Anyone with a web browsing DS want to test it out?

We do this for my son and it seems to help. He works for 10 minutes and then gets to read for fun for 10 minutes.
