You wouldn’t be the first one to come through with that theory

Yup. the MAGA fascist movement is not one made of toothless yokels from the Florida swamps. It’s middle class, Christian, and overwhelmingly white. The same demographic that is losing cultural and economic ground yearly.

I’m with you except for money and career. I’ve lived through 6 recessions and many corporate buyouts on the wrong end. (the one where you get fired because you belong to the bought company) and decades of jobs going overseas and wages not keeping up with inflation and the destruction of employee rights, and none of

Just like we have the term “himpathy,” we have to coin one for this cohort: wypipo-sympathy. It’s the unending compassion that we have to show to the wypipo bigots who think that their opinions and worldview are what should dominate and hold sway in greater society.

Change in management at WaPo does not appear to have resulted in a change in rhetoric going soft on white supremacist terrorists and white supremacist terrorist sympathizing White people

BIPOC don’t get to go wilding out if we’re behind on the bills

Yes, taken advantage of by these people:

Researchers have also found that many of the Capitol insurgents were CEOs, business owners, doctors, lawyers, IT specialists and people who hold other white-collar jobs. Many of the insurgents were also members or ex-members of the military and law enforcement.

white privilege is likely to work just as it always has—to protect certain people from the consequences, and even an honest acknowledgement, of their base, entitled motivations.

he doesn’t want her to meet other people in the entertainment business, he tells her that everyone has bad intentions for her

It was mentioned that there is an interim female conservator currently filling in - apparently Britney has petitioned  the court to allow this woman to take over and dispense with the father. I can’t imagine why the court would not honor the request.

Mental challenges or not, if my father “grounded” me at 39 years old, I would absolutely murder him in his fucking sleep. The mere thought of having my life controlled like it was when I was a kid is enough to make me feel anxiety rise up in my stomach now. I had a loving, supportive family when I was young, but I was

The reason for the suing, probably, is because of America’s broken healthcare system. Her medical insurance won’t pay out to fix her scalp, she couldn’t afford the treatment before this doctor stepped in, so the only way to be able to pay the healthcare bills is to sue Gorilla Glue and hope they will pay for the

The problem is she has basically laminated her hair onto her scalp, it is like she is wearing a cap made of varnish of her hair. You can’t clip that away.

A 40 year old teacher did this ya’ll.

The hair is a lost cause.  Always was.  I’d be more concerned about not losing my scalp.

Thank you for sharing the update on this. When she first filed, so many of my friends were full on Nelson Muntz HA-HAing at the murderer (“hahaha his wife left him, too! TAKE THAT, murderer!!!!) and I had to be like... y’all, she’s clearly “leaving him” to protect their assets from the impending civil lawsuits he’s

So this is basically akin to the Don and Melania love story. The supposedly rich guy is in debt, the wife was promised a ‘lifestyle’ and now they have to cook something up to try and protect whatever dollars they do have. The divorce settlement should be interesting... and also a red flag if he half hearted quibbles

There’s a similar situation going on with the divorce of the cop who killed George Floyd. The cop’s wife filed for divorce days after Floyd’s death, and in the settlement she was getting all the assets from the marriage until a judge who suspected fraud said not so fast.

This likely has to do with community property laws in California. As long as they’re married, her share of the community property can be seized to satisfy his debts. But using the divorce to hide his assets from the lawsuit is potentially fraudulent, which I read to be the point of the lawsuit.
