Jamaica. But he didn’t wanna take it.
Me: “How did his guy swim miles out into the ocean? Is he Michael Phelps?”
“Well, you should just be, you know...less black.”—racists who claim that racism no longer exists, they aren’t responsible for slavery (and thus think everybody should just get over it already), who claim to have ‘lots of (insert other ethnic/racial group) friends!’, who voted for that repugnant sack for some reason…
“More trouble than it’s worth”? You’re missing the best part of owning bread! It’s when you hold the bag by the opening, then lightly slap the loaf so it spins around and around, thus creating a tight, plastic coil at the top, over which you can easily fit the plastic tab. Nothing could be simpler, and it’s tremendous…
Dude. This young woman was super thrilled to have seen her old dog, she wanted a quick snapshot, not to give a photography lesson to the stranger she’d probably freaked out a little. It’s also possible multiple photos were taken and she posted the one without her face in it.
Sure she was. I just don’t blame Flores either like so many here. Flores did stop the interview after she was blasted. No one at fault here. If she changed her mind maybe say I changed my mind. The reason the microphone was there is because Danielle kept talking. It takes a second to process what is coming out of…
This interview gives voice to the frustration and irritation of people sticking mics in the faces of people nearing the end of their rope.
It’s reasonably simple.
My personal favorite part of this story is that this five year old complained that her Muslim caretakers don’t speak English, and yet those same caretakers managed to indoctrinate her with all these lessons about Christian holidays being dumb and European women being drunkards.
Exactly. She’s not wrong for being upset and angry—her life is upended and the chances of her and her family receiving adequate help seem slim.
Is she being disparaged? What happened was a “furious outburst”, “lashing out”, and “going off”, but is any one faulting her for that? I didn’t get that sense from the linked articles. Was it just because of the general use of the terms? Yeah they can have a negative connotation when they are used in stories of…
A white five-year-old girl told her mother Christmas and Easter are ‘stupid’ and European women are alcoholics after being fostered to two Muslim families, it was claimed today.
Meh. Every state would do the same thing. There have been multiple disasters and everyone picks up and rebuild. Has nothing to do with Texas. I cannot stand people who think their state is somehow better than everyone else’s it’s so asinine. Texans and New Yorkers might be the two worst about it.

Enfenestration
Fenestration is one of my favorites to use as an architecture professor. Primarily because it sounds a bit dirty and always gets a funny look from my students the first time they hear it.
I am disappointed that this article did not take the rare opportunity to use “fenestrated” in a sentence.
“Where the f*ck is the handbrake? Is it a pedal or something? A button? But where?! All I see is “sport mode” and Bluetooth. Waiting for pairing. Siri, stop the car! Siri, STOP CAR. A list of nearby car dealerships? NO! I’ll just put it in park and see what happens.”
I am going to go out on a limb and say this wasn't just a few guys out joyriding and splashing around in the puddles. They were probably following orders and just got in a little over their heads (pun intended).
