Eh, fair enough. Acting as the largely symbolic head of an empire that did a lot of harm to those under its rule, it’s only fair she attracts criticism.

Largely because of the colonising European Empires either ignoring, or deliberately breaking up, already existing political groupings when they divvied up Africa between themselves , then deliberately exacerbating existing divisions to prevent the people under their rule uniting to drive them out.

Probably something boringly normal, like being adopted by a member of the family. Maybe even King Charles, May His Royal Ears be Forever Droopy and His Royal Fur Silky.

More like roach/cricket batteries, as any arthropod species will do for the chitin.

They do enjoy inflicting suffering on others.

I would argue that remaining on Twitter in spite of the onslaught of abuse is a form of standing up to power. And being online is essential for organising these days. The Womens March Twitter is linked to womensmarch.com, a website dedicated to real world action. So yes, the Stonewall Riots and the Edmund Pettus

You are missing the point, in your effort to paint participating on Twitter (and by implication online in general) as something optional and without consequences if it is not participated in. It is not. Being online is essential today in order to be heard. Whether privately owned or not, Twitter is an important public

What makes it hilarious as well as disturbing? The source of the image is a Mother Jones article! Mother Jones is a proudly progressive magazine and website. Very much what the modern GOP opposes. I really like it. Here, have a Kinja “link” to it. Remember to copy and paste.

Does the ban include first aid stations? Because a first aid station with a water dispenser and disposable paper cups would be, well, first aid. A cup of room temperature water in a disposable cup would be very difficult to classify as a bribe.

How is “group knowingly resists a police raid on a bar and resulting mistreatment, acts shocked when it gets the inevitable beating from New York Police”, a “live demonstration of standing up to abuse and power”?

Judge sings - “I deny abortion, deny abortion, and any old reason will do”
(Apologies to Tina Turner and her song “Private Dancer”)

Current Republicans - still appropriating everything minorities come up with.

Horrifying thought - what would the baby be like if Tommy Williams got Samantha Markle pregnant?

And calling their behaviour incompetent is being quite charitable about their intentions. But I do suffer from near-terminal niceness.

They mistook a 56 and 67 year old couple for teens??

That’s why it’s only a teeny tiny bit of sympathy. That amount is all she deserves. The rest of my response to her “sense of entitlement and complete lack of self-awareness? Can be summed up like this

Had it been a male teacher sexually abusing a boy, I suspect the sentence would have been much harsher. Sexual abuse of male victims by female offenders is treated far too leniently.

I’m giving her a teeny tiny bit of sympathy for having to face that as a new mother. A not very bright new mother, admittedly, to be surprised by her reception, but  having your breasts suddenly threaten embarrassing wet patches on camera would not be fun.
