If you follow the link to the Daily mail article, it just seems to be saying that Western Europeans, having experienced peace for over a generation, find a major war this close to them shocking. This article seems like click-bait.

Britney is certainly making up for years of being forced to suffer in silence. Under her circumstances, I’d do the same.
I am reminded of the book “Backlash” by Susan Faludi. And a focus on black history in America has examples of backlash in spades. The end of slavery brought on Jim Crow. The end of segregated schooling brought on a retreat to private schooling.
If you’ve been following the Grenfell Tower enquiry podcast by the BBC, cheap, faulty door-closing mechanisms that had to be tampered with because residents were having difficulty opening/closing doors at all was a very real problem. Sounds like that to me.
