Oh hope not tbh. I would like SEGA more as third-party than second.

But it really isn’t.
Except for the fact that Pepsi still has success. Sure, they don’t outsell Coca-Cola but they also didn’t fail as hard as MS did last gen and this gen in Japan.
I define that in this case by “Not failing” which MS did last gen and this gen in Japan.
Of course they buy non-japanese brands, but if the products are more or less equal or, in Xbox’s case, way worse, they are more likely to buy japanese brands.
but why would that stop them from trying?
This is an uphill battle that MS can’t win. Only a few japanese people want a Xbox and would rather buy a japanese product anyway. Maybe with game pass they’ll get a few more sales but it’ll still fail overall.
That’s what I was saying from the beginning. It didn’t even make sense that characters were swearing and that the game is going to be rated R if I remember correctly?
I honestly don’t really get the IX comparison. Sure, it was one of the last main FFs that leaned more into the fantasy side but for me it feels more like a cross between FFXIV (maybe XII) and Type-0. It has a style similar to XIV but even more medieval and it has the dark atmosphere of Type-0, especially the intro of…
Just look into the free trial. They extended it a few weeks ago so that anyone can play A Realm Reborn and the first expansion “Heavensward” completely for free as long as they want. ARR may not be a masterpiece but it gets better towards the end and Heavensward is the second best expansion yet.
But it didn’t.
Then I would point at FFXIV. Sure, you can still switch jobs whenever you want on you character but every job is somewhat distinct and until Shadowbringers each of them even had their own quest line with a unique story to complete.
Then take a look at FFXIV imo. Sure, it’s not exactly the same style but it can be pretty colorful and it’s my favorite together with IX.
The problem with a lot of FF—and I’d argue this was a thing starting with Kingdom Hearts/Advent Children is that these things were first and foremost solely concerned with “the rule of cool,
This sounds like it’s even more difficult than the first one which is not the direction they should’ve went imo. The first one is ridiculously punishing. One wrong step? Your run is most likely over.
Warframe loses disc space while CoD Warzone get’s like 50GB with every patch because it’s impossible to compress data anymore, I guess.
You must be fun at parties.
Not to mention Dragon Quest Heroes 2 which is almost a straight up action RPG with a bit of Dynasty Warriors.
Very rare someone will watch for the first couple times and throw down a sub.
Even Mr. Summer of Games himself Geoff Keighley commented on it during his parallel stream of the show, though he seemed less amused by Twitch’s antics.
