Yeah, I think so too. For me it’s a bit like watching a trash movie. It was maybe done as a serious story but it’s so ridiculous that no one can take it seriously. But I understand if someone doesn’t like that. 

True, but that feels more like a trash movie to me. It was taken seriously and maybe even still is but I would guess it’s because they know how ridiculous it is. You know what I mean?

Tbh it doesn’t look that much better than the original. The levels looked like almost perfect recreations of the original without any improvements, the “wall jump” mechanics weren’t fun in the original either and at some places Sonic seemed to slow down instead of going faster or at least maintaining his speed. 

I wouldn’t even say slow necessarily but the level design was pretty meh and they remade those levels almost perfectly which means that they didn’t make any improvements, also some things seemed to slow down Sonic instead of making him faster or at least maintaining his speed. 

Let’s be real here: Who the hell cares about the plot of Sonic the Hedgehog games? Mario isn’t known for it’s amazing story too so that’s the least important aspect and even if the story in the last games was ridiculous and full of edge (I’m looking at you Infinite) they were so ridiculous they were fun again.

While I agree with the story the game never looked bad. Mediocre maybe but it looked fine. (not talking about the bad framerate) With a remake you can also improve the gameplay same with its graphics of course.

True, although sadly some features don’t seem to work correctly on PCSX2 for example just with the original disc like save states. But that’s just a small problem if you can make images from your discs.

Yes. In 6-7 years when the PS6 is almost out. Right now it would be way better to focus on 1080p with a good performance than having the same shitty performance we have now but just a bit prettier and in 4K imo.
