I think Miles Morales was helped by the fact that as a not “full blown” game the devs were forced to trim a lot of the fat. Also as i finally do a new game plus on the remaster of spider man it’s pretty clear that insomniac did an excellent job of refining a lot of the side activities within MM.

I can’t speak for BTW because i never played it, but the whole climb this tower to reveal the map always felt like work, something you had to do not because it was fun or interesting but because most other side activities were gated beyond them.
