This is a clear abuse of the 911 feature.  If the law said that if you use 911 in a frivolous manner, the police can write you a ticket of $1000 for that.  It would keep stupid people from abusing the system.

I hate that this happened.  The cops used excessive force and need to be heavily disciplined for that.  I hope the family sues the department.  But I hope the family is allowed to sue the 911 callers.  They KNEW they were calling in a joke and were laughing it up when it happened.  They need to pay as well.
