Me either :)
Me either :)
Yeah, that seems like the answer and I guess we never know how each person will react until they are in that situation.
One thing I wondered while reading the book and now watching the show is why more handmaids don’t suffer more psychotic breakdowns and why there aren’t more suicides. They address this, kind of, with the no glass, no shoe laces, etc. But I think breakdowns would be so wide spread that Gilead would have to address…
On behalf of all ladies- thanks for your groundbreaking observations.
I can't believe people even question why women don't come forward.
Ughhh just brutal.
That scene reminded me of that photo of all white male law makers deciding the future of women's reproductive rights and access to healthcare. A panel of men making what could be life and death decisions for/about women happens now.
"the Commander will skate away with no consequences and Offred would be severely punished."
I also wonder if they will have the part in the book where Offred goes to the doctor and has to politely decline rape. It's so awful on so many different levels.
Oooh definitely!
And Karen "mother" Pence as a wife- shudder.
I think they are going to have a second Salvaging and it will probably go down similar to how it did in the book.
Exactly! And her next book will be in 15 years about the struggles of single motherhood- and a New York Times critic will note that it is basically a rehash of her first book.
Of course narcissist Rory Gilmore would write a book about herself.
Totally agree about the Life and Death Brigade- the show consistently seems to be saying one thing about a character or characters while showing something completely different.
Remember when Rory had a felony charge? That would be an interesting story to follow up on.
