Since an average cost is given, I am assuming that this is a measure of alcoholic beverages sold inside stadiums. Assuming that beer is the alcoholic beverage most often sold in college stadiums, the lightweights may be missing parts of the games due to time spent going to and fro to restrooms.
When I was a youngster (1950s) I used to eat Jello with a spoon, not the prepared dish, but I used a spoon to eat a whole package of the dry mix. It was mostly sugar and coloring and tasted quite good.
