@BigStu: Is it just me or was anyone else saddened that those are your only two options today?

@Eric Geller: Like the link under the pic to the Guide for doing this on Windows or are you referring to something else?
@HunterShoptaw: In Edit to my previous reply, check out this link:
@Kevin Purdy: Actually I can't say, being in the business, revealing this could have consequences.
I work for a company in Missouri that recycles electronics so let me set a few facts straight.
@2 replies: Ah, all good points. Google is in fact an amalgamation of many other resources with the actual answer. That said, I would posit that Google may actually be the best way to also search these resources.
@TheFu: I can honestly say I agree with all of that. I believe my original reply is more based on the idea that this IS coming to pass, not if it will. Also, nothing so far has shown it to be mandatory (though I realize that can change and probably would).
@TheFu: But is it? You use multiple CC's to track your own spending on different sites/stores, however, in a data perspective it all goes into the same account. So while you A&E purchase don't show on the same bill as your W-mart ones, they all still go to the three credit agencies. And if you use a Visa for both…
@Nano-Byte: Don't get me wrong, I am looking at this from a security standpoint as well. I also agree that to give up liberty for security is quite idiotic, however we do it everyday, in that we want others to be accountable for us and protect us, instead of baring that burden ourselves. On the banking stand point, I…
i vote yes. Yes because this is exactly what we talked about in the Gawker incident. Yes, because I believe people are looking at this wrong. I've read many of these arguments and I do not yet find a the problem with them. ID to use my bank, why not? ID to cast my vote online, Please! There are many real and good ways…
@Dear God I think they've got it!: No, we're just ninja enough not to have to deal with it. Seriously, I would say I see as much spam in my search today as before, but then again, I'm not searching for random non-specific data. I search Google like anything else. This is what I want, query, keyword answers, query…
Also, just because you reinstall doesnt mean you aren't reinstalling garbage. Many AV programs, Toolbars, system "improvement" programs, and other various start up software will bog you system down from the beginning. Do you homework on what you load on your machine.
@Brandon Hall: Now THAT should have been the article. Finally a use for AOL cd's. What?! like you don't remember those!
@josefismael: Thank you! Data mining is still a SKILL. I think that today people think just because they can see the internet and turn on a computer then everything must be easy.
@isaaclyman: In some ways I find it more satisfying. Granted turkey bacon is not bacon. But it can fill the role better than most other subs. Turkey sausage, pep, and summer sausages I actually enjoy more than their swine cousins.
@Heiner Valverde: Get a video converter. $25. Amazon. 'nough said.
Okay how is it that GoogleTV and apple TV got in this poll. They aren't really apps. You can just go download it and put it on your pc, so aren't they more like appliances?
@paperfairy: In all honesty, you'll still face this problem. I know of middle school kids that "just like how a book feels." Until physical books go the way of collectibles, you'll still face this problem, though I, like you, do look forward to that paperless Utopia.
Good post. Being a casual gamer I honestly haven't heard of most of these. Thanks for doing the heavy lifting!
@Salty Johnson: Have to give you that one. Definitely fail.
