@JDickson87: I've used a Magic Mouse, and it's actually pretty good. It didn't get uncomfortable during the time I used it. Of course, it was just at the Apple Store. Using the mouse for longer periods of time may be completely different.

@Yahweh Took My Prepuce: I upgraded using an iPod Touch 8GB 3G(same hardware as the iPhone 3G unlike the 32GB and 64GB iTouches which have the same hardware as iPhone 3GS), and it didn't take any longer than an hour for me.

Good enough. I'd love to have a home screen background, but I'd hate for the animation to be choppy. Because I dislike choppy animations more than almost anything.
