The 238 mile rating is from the EPA cycle. It’s a combination of city and highway driving, the same cycle used to generate fuel economy sticker ratings. It’s quite easy to achieve that range in the real world.

They do have their own unique plug. But, it’s simple to develop an adapter for the other two standards widely in use, CHAdeMO and CCS.

Buick had world class build quality when those cars were produced, consistently ranking as one of the best US auto plants. And their all cast iron(it never had aluminum heads) 3.8 V-6 was bullet proof.
